Cast and Crew
Aerin O’Malley
Judge and Beanie MinionAerin O’Malley cannot wait for her second Fringe with Melancholics Anonymous! Previous work with Melancholics includes: A Girl Scout’s Guide to Exorcism and Horse Girls. Other recent acting and choreography credits include: The Three Musketeers, Singin’ in the Rain, Photograph 51, Newsies, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Bye Bye Birdie. As someone who had a personalized bedtime routine for each of her stuffed animals as a child, she is excited to highlight the passionate feelings our tiny friends can provoke.
Anneliese Garner
ChloeAnneliese Garner, a costume designer and dramaturg, serves as the Production Manager for Melancholics Anonymous. Recent credits include The World is Ending...(Melancholics Anonymous), Hamlet (Novagrex), and Julius Caesar (Thin Air Theater). She's excited to be back onstage for another fringe after last year's A Girl Scout's Guide to Exorcism (MA). Anneliese did not understand the Beanie Baby craze until meeting Frisbee the Dog at rehearsal. She's now obsessed with Frisbee the Dog.
Bee Davis
MickeyBee Davis is a Twin Cities based actor and Melancholics company member. Their recent credits include The World is Ending and A Girl Scout’s Guide with Melancholics and Hamlet with Novagrex Theatre. Bee’s favorite beanie babies include Inch the Worm, Hoot the Owl, and Ants the Anteater.
Claire Chenoweth
The Beanie ThingClaire Chenoweth (she/her) is a Twin Cities-based performer, teaching artist, and emerging practitioner of intimacy direction. Recent credits include The World Is Ending and Maybe That's Kind of Hot (Melancholics Anonymous) Hamlet (Novagrex), Bernhardt/Hamlet (Theatre Pro Rata), and A Girl Scout’s Guide to Exorcism (Melancholics Anonymous). Shoutout to Snort, Dotty, and Peanut, - the Beanie trio draped over Claire's crib as a baby. Hippity might have been in there too. It’s an honor to profane their memory.
Mady Smith
Set/Props CoordinatorMady is a nurse by day and a theatre kid by night. While she loves the science of her profession, her true passion lies in the world of crafting and creativity. Whether she's stage managing or creating props, Mady finds immense joy in watching ideas come to life through Melancholics Anonymous' projects. When she's not crafting, you can find Mady spending quality time with the world’s most perfect cat, Egg.
Maren Findlay
Stage ManagerMaren Findlay (she/her) is a frequent stage manager and infrequent actor from Minneapolis. She could not be more thrilled to work with Melancholics Anonymous again after stage managing their 2023 production of 5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche. When not frantically writing down blocking, she likes to garden, paint, and cook. She currently holds a position with Threshold Theater as a Literary Associate. Though not an overwhelming fan of human babies, she thinks the beanie variety are delightful. Her favorite beanie is Wrinkles the Bulldog.
Matthew Humason
Fight ChoreographerMatthew Humason teaches middle school theater at Minnehaha Academy and works as a freelance Actor, Director, and Fight Choreographer in the Twin Cities. Recent credits include The Sound of Music, Little Women: The Musical (Minnetonka Theater), A Day with the Newhearts, (Melancholics, actor + Fight Choreographer) and Grease: School Edition (Blue Water Theater, Dir.) Matthew finds Beanie Babies oddly unsettling, at least after working on this show.
Meredith Enersen
MomMeredith Enersen is so excited to be back at Fringe this year with Melancholics Anonymous after her debut in last year's production of A Girl Scouts Guide to Exorcism! She has also become a part of the Melancholics Anonymous company, as the Marketing and Communications Director, and has loved working with this company as it continues to grow! While she does not have any personal experience with divorce, she has a great deal of experience playing with beanie babies, and hopes that will prove invaluable in this process. She is greatly looking forward to seeing all of you out and about at Fringe this summer and can’t wait to see all the amazing work everyone creates!
Nick Willcocks
The CEONick Willcocks (he/him), born one March, is excited to be collaborating with Melancholics Anonymous this summer. At an early age, Nick discovered his love for performance, and at his current age, is waiting for the other shoe to drop. This is the first show Nick has been a part of in years, and he would like to thank the cast and crew of this show as well as those in his life for their endless sense of fun and creativity.

Timothy Kelly
Princess and Beanie MinionTimothy Kelly (he/him) is a theater artist and producer. Co-founder of Melancholics Anonymous, he enjoys producing ensemble-driven original works and accessible classics. More Information
"This isn't about toys. It's about control," - Judge Gerald Hardcastle, 1999
From the company that brought you A Girl Scout’s Guide to Exorcism (2023) and A Day with the Newhearts (2022) comes a nostalgic tale of goofy horror!
Beanie Baby Divorce Play is a send up of the iconic stuffed animal craze, a love letter to everything 90s from Animorphs to dunkaroos, and is (loosely) based off of a real court case in which a divorcing couple had to split up their Beanie Babies collection on the floor.
Yes, this actually happened.
Melancholics Anonymous, winner of four MN Fringe awards (2023 Venue Pick, Artist Pick, Audience Pick and 2022 Venue Pick), is thrilled to produce for their 6th year in a row! Established at St. Olaf College in 2019 and now based in the Twin Cities, Melancholics is an independent theater company dedicated to delivering sincere, eccentric, accessible performances to our community.
