Ready or Not, Here Comes Divine!

Divine/Gypsy is a perfect tribute to both sources, and it was a perfect way to end my Fringe-going this year. The performers said at the end that they want this show to live beyond Fringe, and I really hope it does, too!

Filthy, Glamorous, and Surprisingly Heartbreaking

I don't think the fringe festival would allow me to use the actual adjectives required to properly describe this hilarious, foul-mouthed, drag-fantasy of a show. You certainly won't see drag this filthy and surprisingly emotional at the Gay 90s or a Flip Phone brunch. This show isn't gay as in "love is love" it's Queer as in "[censored] you!" You know the 4 letter word I want to use there. The hook of the show is obviously the mashup of the iconic Queer Gypsy/John Waters source materials, which is what gets people in the doors. But the real power of the show is seeing these freshman actors deliver characters who devolve into messy, complex, and tragic humans beyond the drag. I won't spoil anything, but I didn't expect to cry 3 separate times at what I expected to be a funny drag show inspired by Pink Flamingos. This new-to-fringe trio Blair Kitsch, Mink Hole, and Pistachio Creampie deliver powerhouse performances with their clever writing, impeccable comedic timing, and surprisingly emotional deliveries of this comedic tragedy. Do NOT miss this show.

I cannot post to the fringe website the amount of cursing and foul language I want to use to express my love for this show. They absolutely nailed every beat and I wanted two full hours. I'd watch them do the full musical, but I think Patti would rise out of her non-equity shadows to build a pool with their bones if they did. Bravo!

When I tell you I was crying laughing from the first minute I’m not playing gal. Addictively hilarious you could watch these 3 interact for hours on end

Divine, Simply

This show was THEATRE. It was dramatic, honest, comedic, and FILTHY!!! I have yet to laugh so hard, but be so moved by a singular piece of drama. If this could be flushed out to be the entire musical, I would pay to see it on repeat. The cast of characters is fantastic and they all play off of each other beautifully. These are three breakout stars who you surely do NOT want to miss. Pistachio plays support so beautifully and anchors the show. Mink can DANCE and wears various wigs (literally) SO well. And Blair Kitsch plays Divine to a degree of filth and specificity that John Waters would surely weep if he were to see this production. I am still in awe about what I watched tonight and will be highly disappointed if I go to a burlesque show and there’s not an ounce of beer sprayed on me. Bravo to this truly QUEER and WHORE-IFIC production. Go see this visually stunning masterpiece as soon as you can.

A perfect gem of a show

I loved this ... so good. The music slaps, of course, and the lip sync was on fleek. A wonderful theatrical experience!

This show is the type of gold you go to fringe in hopes of striking! Really well done and twisted in the best way.

Deliciously flithy

Blair kitch does such a wonderful good at blending gypsy and divine, I could spit!!! Mink hole and Blair have great chemistry. Pistachio cream pie is a treat! I laughed. I cried. I wanted to throw dollars and scream. Hold my eyes open, I could watch this on repeat!!! Worth it.

Divine Delights!!

This show simply can’t be missed! Hosted in a fabulous venue, the stage was set for a real rollercoaster of a ride. I loved the chemistry of the two leads Blair and Mink. You can tell they all had a great time putting together this show. Pistachio was a delightful set of characters.Well done🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈

I kind of unexpectedly went to this show but had a great time. It was drama, razzle dazzle, and representation! woo hoo!

Do not miss this show!

It’s camp, it’s punk, it’s subversive, it’s queer, and it’s absolutely divine. I was not sure what to expect walking into this show but i walked out with an incredible experience that i will not soon forget. I highly recommend you make it to this show regardless of if you know any of the source material- it was truly a fantastic work of art and i can’t wait for more people to experience it.

What an enjoyable, hilarious and heartfelt show. Such a fun concept, and such a phenomenally talented cast that is the perfect blend of polished and unhinged. Truly, one of the best performances I’ve had the pleasure of seeing in a long, long time.

Let Them Entertain You

Fantastic, clever, and fun! Super talented cast. Never thought my loves of Divine and Gypsy would intersect but it makes so much sense. Can't recommend this show enough!

Perfect Passion Project

You can tell that a lot of love and heart was put in to this show. Just the right amount of in-jokes and meta references, but not so much that you need to have prior knowledge of Gypsy or Divine going into it - other than how Divine is a messy Drag Queen, and Mama Rose is pretty much a character from Dance Moms. Blair Kitsch's sense of humor is prevalent if you've seen her other work, she has an eye for style, and where it lacks nuance and polish, the shock factor and sheer glee you get from watching it with other audience members asking 'What was THAT?!" makes it an excellent theater experience.

FILTH!

In a word perfect. In more words bold, brash, and absolutely heartbreaking with an ending that kills.

Everything's Coming Up Divine!

This was a FANTASTIC production!!! Heartfelt and humorous, poignant and powerful! The cast delivered a phenomenal take on "Gypsy" that makes it new while still being familiar. This feels like the epitome of Fringe to me, and would HIGHLY recommend seeing this show! You don't have to be a super fan of the musical, or of Divine, to understand the show (but if you are, there are some brilliant subtle winks that you won't want to miss)!

Absolutely "Divine"

What. A . Wild. Ride. Truly a roller-coaster of a show. I laughed, I cried, I cringed, I LOVED IT. From the minute I entered the theatre, I couldn't take my eyes off Blair Kitsch, who absolutely sucks you in and never lets you go. Mink Hole and Pistachio Creampie are also fantastic - it's cool to see a show like Gypsy done with such a small, strong cast. Well done!

Exactly what I hoped for from the content warning

From the first line of the show I knew I was in the right place. This show is creative, funny, and dark, with clever performances from all three cast members!

Scrumptious

I genuinely loved this show, and not just because my friends were starring in it. I was entranced by Blair and Mink’s performances with Miss Pizz acting as almost a reminder of normalcy. I laughed so so so much and would HIGHLY recommend seeing this show.
