Cast and Crew
Carlos Barrera
Actor (Pyramus / Caesar / Third Witch)Carlos, like most members of the Redmond Players (aka Technically Thespians) is an engineer by day and actor by night. In a previous life, he performed two solo shows at the San Francisco Fringe Festival and was cofounder of Third Cloud from the Left, a small production company specializing in site-specific immersive shows.
Emelyn Berg
Props & Costume MasterEmelyn is a longtime maker, creator, and builder who has recently brought those skills back to the theater. A clever problem-solver with a knack for thoughtful design, she has overstuffed the cast and crew’s suitcases with a whirlwind of quick-change costumes and props. Her creations will be doing the traveling for her, inspiring and grounding the excited troupe as they bring That Was Shakespeare: Fringe Edition to life. This marks her 3rd production with the Redmond Players (aka Technically Thespians), where she has grown from an emergency costume maker into the troupe's Prop and Costume Master.
Aaron Burke
Stage ManagerA long-time lurker, first-time trouper, Aaron has been an avid theater patron for years, but only recently got involved in production with The Redmond Players (Technically Thespians). For this festival, he's reprising his role as Stage Manager from the full-length run of That Was Shakespeare in October 2025. When he's not telling others what to do, you can find him watching cat videos, playing board games, D&D, or vibing with friends over a nice craft beer. His most controversial opinions are that cats are better than dogs and that IPAs are the Jello fruit cake of beer.
Jason Davis
Actor (Poet / Duke Statler / Brutus)Jason is grateful for the opportunity to perform at the festival and excited to see and meet all of the other very talented folks participating! This is Jason's 4th production with the Redmond Players (aka Technically Thespians) after a long stint of not performing since high school. He also enjoys performing improv, studying Japanese, and hanging out with his two beautiful cats. If you see the scamp, feel free to ask him about anything and everything!
Lauren Go
Co-Director | Co-Producer | Co-Writer | Actor (Beatrice / Macduff)Lauren Go co-founded the Redmond Players (aka Technically Thespians) and has since done a little of everything — directing, producing, writing, acting. She co-wrote That Was Shakespeare and is thrilled to finally bring its Fringe Edition to Minneapolis. A product manager in engineering (and a recovering engineer herself), she came back to the stage after a 13-year hiatus and hasn't found a way to leave since — most recently as Suzanne in Kodachrome this past April. Here she plays Beatrice and Macduff — one who fights with words, one who fights with everything else.
Erica Guthan
Actor (Thisbe / Antony / First Witch)In Erica's lifelong love of all things theatre, she's always had a soft spot for Shakespeare. Over the years, she's enjoyed bringing many scripts to life, including Twelfth Night and Richard III. This is her 3rd production with the Redmond Players (aka Technically Thespians) and she's delighted this group has allowed her to explore this passion again with such a wonderful cast and crew.
Ben Homer
Assistant Stage ManagerTina Huang
Actor (Connie)Though Connie may make fun of theater nerds, Tina unabashedly identifies as one. She first fell in love with the magic of live theater during her high school productions of Legally Blonde and The Addams Family and has since been pursuing her love of theater through 3 other Redmond Players (aka Technically Thespians) productions. She is excited to reprise her role as Connie and take you all on the wonderful journey of learning to love Shakespeare.
Jake Mattinson
Co-Director | Co-Writer | Co-Producer | StagehandJake (Jane to their friends) has done theater and science their whole life. They love getting to watch this wonderful show and thank Lauren for bringing it to fringe.
Varika Pinnam
Actor (Wall / Lion / Moonshine / Cassius / Second Witch)Varika re-discovered her love of acting and theater through the 1st run of this show last year. She gravitates to the fun, quirky, roles and in this show, she's pulling triple duty as Wall, Lion, Moonshine in one scene to match her chaotic, bubbly energy. Her acting era started early: as a kid, she could be found gleefully plotting as the "Evil Queen" in just about every rendition of the role, and that mischievous streak has followed her ever since. Offstage, Varika is the friend pulling everyone onto the dance floor and travel-enthusiast, so she's excited and grateful to perform at Fringe. She's been going around saying, "We are on tour, people!"
Rizo Rakhmanov
Actor (Prologue / Casca / Benedick / Malcolm)Arul Santhanam
Actor (Ford)Arul made his stage debut in the previous version of this production and is excited to return for its Fringe run. Like a rising tide lifting all boats, the talented cast and crew of The Redmond Players (aka Technically Thespians) have made this an incredible journey! Stepping into this role showed him just how much goes into performing arts, and he’s especially grateful to experience and learn from fellow Fringe performers. Outside of acting, he is navigating single parenting two boys—a teenager and a preteen—while still enjoying being a dad and cooking.
Monica Taylor
Actor (Dame Waldorf / Metellus Cimber / Ross)Monica Taylor fell in love with the stage somewhere between middle school rehearsals and her first curtain call—and she’s been chasing that magic ever since. Her musical theater journey began in high school, where her debut as Maria Washington in Quilt: A Musical Celebration earned recognition from Seattle’s 5th Avenue Theatre (2003). She spent the years that followed performing in spring musicals while happily living both backstage and under the lights. In college, she served as Vice President of the Western Washington University Glee Club, producing three shows a year. After eight years as an Executive Assistant at Microsoft, theater called her back—first behind the scenes with the Redmond Players’ That Was Shakespeare: A Revue, then as Assistant Stage Manager for Kodachrome. Now, she’s stepping out from backstage and into the spotlight at Minnesota Fringe, performing as Dame Waldorf, Metellus Cimber, and Ross—because theater kids never really leave the stage.
