Paco Erhard
Writer & PerformerPaco Erhard is America's German comedian. A staple performer at the world’s biggest comedy festivals, Paco has appeared on BBC, ABC, ARD, and many other TV & radio stations in Australia, Canada, England, Scotland, New Zealand, Ireland, and Germany. Since 2023, he has been living and touring in the United States, winning numerous awards for his charming, no-holds-barred stand-up. In 2001, Paco hitchhiked out of his native Germany, travelled the world for 14 years, and started doing comedy in English, Spanish, and German. In his high-octane performances, he draws on his meandering life around the world to deliver hard-hitting, mischievous social commentary from a global perspective and connect cultures with comedy. Considered “one of the best cultural comedians in the world” (Rip It Up, Australia), Paco has won the Golden Lanyard at the 2023 Minnesota Fringe, the 2022 Critics Pick Award at San Diego Fringe, the 2022 Patrons’ Pick Award and 2022 New Producer of the Year Award at Orlando Fringe, the Best Comedy Award at Victoria Fringe in 2019, Best of Fest at Vancouver Fringe 2018, and was nominated for the Fringe World Best Comedy Award in 2013. In 2012, UK newspaper The Argus named his show 5-Step Guide to Being German one of the comedy shows of the year. Born in Munich as Frank Erhard Hübener, the great-grandson of German minister-president Erhard Hübener (post-war, don’t worry!) grew up in nine different regions of Germany, experiencing his country’s inner cultural differences from an early life, before living in the USA, Italy, Spain, the UK, and spending long stretches of time in Australia and Canada, becoming the world’s comedy expert on Germany and cross-cultural communication. In his award-winning corporate show 5-Step Guide to Being German, Paco explains the German psyche and opens mental doors to doing business with Germans. His clients include BMW, Unesco World Heritage, Mensa, the World Taxpayers Association, the Goethe Institute, and Mini. He has written and starred in several successful ads for Ford.

EXTRA SHOW ADDED! SUNDAY, AUG 11 @ 7:00PM
Hi, it's Paco. For reasons of me being amazing, my show being incredibly funny, and, um, mainly because another performer had to cancel shows due to Covid, I have another show you can come to: Sunday at 7:00. So if you like slightly dark and definitely mischievous stand-up comedy about shit that matters, come be "beside yourself with laughter", as the Pioneer Press wrote. It'll be fun!

WHO THE HELL IS PACO ERHARD?
I'm the dude who brought you 2023 Golden Lanyard Winner 5-STEP GUIDE TO BEING GERMAN. I'm an award-winning comedian from Germany. And no, that is not one of the signs of the apocalypse. I do comedy that South Australia's largest newspaper The Advertiser has called "intelligent, educated, political, smutty, and genius." And Australia's largest newspaper, the Herald Sun, has said that I "tackle sacred cows with reckless abandon" and that "the comedy world is a better place for it." Okay, both those papers are owned by Rupert Murdoch, who as we all know is a complete dick. But his comedy reviewers have really great taste in comedy! Honest! 😬😬😬 Also, I've lived and traveled around the world, I have a Master's in philosophy, I'm a huge Bayern Munich and UNC Tarheels fan, and I love Laphroig and stinky cheese – I'm European after all.

WHO IS THIS SHOW FOR?
If you love comedy that is dark, intelligent (if I do say so myself), unafraid, no-holds-barred, and talks about shit that matters....... from racism to politics to drugs to sex to breakups....... all with a moral compass and attempting to make the world a better place... then this show is great for you. Same if you like a bit of an outside perspective on America. From a guy from Germany who has lived in Germany, America, Italy, Spain, the UK, Australia, and has traveled about 40 other countries and thus has funny stories and insightful takes on the things he talks about... then again, this show is for you. If you expect an actual historical account of bullshit, its development, and my take on American philosopher Harry G. Frankfurt's essay on the subject... then best talk to me over a beer after the show. I have a lot to say about the matter and I love passionate conversations about things like this... but I didn't quite manage to put all that into the show and actually keep it funny. But seriously, let's have a beer after the show and be intellectuals and stroke our beards (if you have one) and say smart things. I'm totally up for that! 🍻
