Show: Her voice rising
Venue: The Southern Theatre

More than Flamenco

This was beautiful work with a variety of styles. It had a lot to say, and I really wanted a program so I could know more about the dances and dancers.

Company: Octoberdandy Productions
Show: Clown Funeral
Venue: Theatre in the Round

Lots of Silly Fun!!

A funny, kid friendly show by a talented group! Reverend Matt shines in his cameo, and the duet with "Dolly* especially cracked me up. Good Job!

Company: Snikt! Bamf! Thwip!
Show: Invasive Species or: In Space No-One Can Hear Your Steam
Venue: Rarig Stoll Thrust Theatre

Steam punk sci fi horror!

Tim Wick is a fringe phenom and I always see his fringe shows. This one surprised, but did not dissapoint. I knew it was an Alien take off, but was not expecting the steam punk, the sea Shanties and Renaissance singers! Inventive and goofy monsters added to the hilarity! So fun!!

Company: SUPERMOON
Show: All Your Shimmering Gold
Venue: Rarig Stoll Thrust Theatre

Strange and fun!

Wait, are the cast members really employees of a defense contractor? Wow, just wow! Amazingly inventive, wonderfully staged!

Company: New Endeavors
Show: An Exorcism, Don'tcha Know?
Venue: Barbara Barker Center for Dance

Spooky, Zany & very Minnesotan

it's hard to stay awake for a 10 pm show, but this kept my attention throughout! Great timing, expertly acted, and terrific script. The way they finally get rid of the demon is hilarious.

Company: Paper Soul
Show: Boxcutter Harmonica
Venue: Barbara Barker Center for Dance

Motz has done it again!

Fringe staple Jeremy Motz is wonderful as a slightly inept and understandably jealous detective trying to solve a mystery about blues great Robert Johnson. Lots of great themes here, and it's funny and tragic. I won't give away the surprise...See it for yourself.

Company: Lady Z Productions
Show: The 4 “W”s and the “H” of Murder
Venue: Mixed Blood

Great Concept!

Who doesn't love a good murder mystery? This "podcast" live on stage is fun to watch. The over dramatic re-enactments are a hoot! Good acting throughout, but Author Maureen B and Grace Yang stand out. Nice work!

Company: Pat O'Brien
Show: Our Zombie Town
Venue: Mixed Blood

witty and thought provoking

The script by local journalist Richard Chin is delightful. The talented cast makes the most of it with pathos and humor. Love the "woodchipper" and the hokey pokey dance! The end is moving and thought provoking. Is to be "Normal" what we really want?? Nice work

Company: Vaky Vaky
Show: A Song in the Dark
Venue: Barbara Barker Center for Dance

Vaky Vaky Very Very

Probably the most political show of the fringe. Shades of Waiting for Godot, with two guys trying to figure out what to do next while surrounded by chaos. What they DO do is entertaining and thought provoking, ending with a call to action. Great Job

Company: Dogdog-Beardog
Show: Ranger Jim
Venue: Rarig Kilburn Theatre

WOW!

Jim is an expert teller, and the stories he chooses to tell in this will move you to your core. From listening to a gruff old man retelling Little Bunny Foo Foo, to watching a disabled person climb a spiral staircase, to holding a heart attack victim as he takes his last breath, Jim will enthrall you and probably make you weep as I did. Go see it!

Company: Tim Uren
Show: This
Venue: Theatre in the Round

a new side of Tim

I have always seen Tim to be a pretty private person, so I know how much courage it took to put himself out there in this one man show. To be an actor playing a part is one thing. To do personal storytelling as yourself is very different, and terrifying. I was at his opening show, which ran long. I am encouraged to see it again just to hear the end. Kudos!

Company: Comedy Suitcase
Show: The Gentlemen’s Pratfall Club
Venue: Theatre in the Round

Josh & Levi have done it again!

After an evening of hard hitting storytelling, it was fun to see a silly slap happy comedy. These guys have been doing this for years, but it never gets old! They are still in great physical and comic form! Great for ALL ages!

Company: Three Second Memory
Show: I Am Here
Venue: Rarig Kilburn Theatre

This is great storytelling

I am tempted to go again, as there will be different stories each time. In this group, stories by Howard Lieberman and Laura Packer hit me the hardest. A nice mix of talent and age ranges. The singer is great and has a wonderful voice, but asking the whole audience to sing along with "I am a woman who loves women" seemed a bit odd to me. I certainly support her life style choices but a sing along that would be a positive affirmation for the entire audience might have been more appropriate. Kudos!

Company: Mermaid Productions
Show: The Abortion Chronicles
Venue: Rarig Kilburn Theatre

SO Good!

Ariel Pinkerton has done a wonderful job in putting together a top notch cast with heartfelt stories to tell. I was amazed they could fit all that content into an hour! Kudos!!

Company: 2HOOTS PRODUCTIONS
Show: Jon Bennett: AMERICAN'T
Venue: Barbara Barker Center for Dance

Funny & Heartfelt

This guy is always entertaining to listen to! I could feel his frustration with his immigration experience and rooted for him all the way. The ending took a surprisingly laughable twist. Understandable that he and Martin Dockery are friends - their manic styles of delivery are quite similar. Well done!
