More Information
The Improv Movement Project, founded and led by Sean Dillon and Mark Benzel, aims to expand and transform the Twin Cities improv landscape through body-centric performance, education, and collaboration. Sean and Mark were lucky enough to assemble a company of 10 amazing physically-oriented performers from a variety of backgrounds who share this vision, and together they performed their first run of wordless, physical improvisation at HUGE Theater in Spring 2024. They are thrilled to bring their work to a wider audience at MN Fringe with our signature form, Collidescope.
In addition to performing, IMP holds free public playdates (half workshop, half jam) for improvisers and other physicality-enthusiastic theater types the 2nd Sunday of most months at HUGE. Interested folks should follow IMP's Facebook page, where the sign-up for these sessions will be released week-of. IMP believes firmly that there are no wrong bodies for this work, and encourages participation by all shapes and abilities. (No session Aug 2024, because Fringe.) IMP doesn't typically hold auditions, but we hope to expand in the future, and company members will likely be drawn from enthusiastic, talented folks we encounter in those sessions.
Thanks for your interest, and we can't wait to see you at the Festival!
