Artistic Director/Choreographer/Dancer/Costume DesignerRenu G. Kumar, founder, president, director, and choreographer of RGK Dance Academy, has been seamlessly blending Kathak, Bharatanatyam, Folk, Bollywood, and Western dance since 2004. With over 2,000 students mentored and 96+ compositions created, Renu’s dedication to Indian dance is unparalleled. Dancing with a Purpose: Renu has independently produced twenty Bollywood dance dramas in Minnesota, raising funds for causes like the Red Cross and Alzheimer’s Association. As a certified yoga instructor, she incorporates a profound mind-body connection in her work. Recognized with numerous awards, including the Achievement Award for Modern Indian Dance, Renu’s impactful journey has been featured in Voyage Minnesota and other media outlets. Guided by the mantra **LOVE, SMILE, PRAY, DANCE, AND DREAM**, she combines art with philanthropy, leaving a lasting mark on the community. At the Minnesota Fringe Festival, Renu has produced and performed in critically acclaimed shows like “Best Bollywood Inn” (2015) and “Dancing Bare Feet” (2017). Concerned about climate change and social justice, she integrates these themes into her original productions. Renu is deeply grateful to her family friends, RGK Team and everyone who has supported and worked with her, acknowledging their invaluable contributions to her creative productions.

Actor/Assistant DirectorMy name is Dr. Sanjay Kumar Mishra I am casted in the role of Harry in the Play “Pursuit of Happiness”. My character lives in the USA and works as personal assistant to Renu G Kumar, coordinating various shows. Although he always enjoyed his work but recently have been experiencing some frustration and looking forward to finding peace and real lasting happiness, which he finds during his visit to India and experiencing Yoga and Hindu Spirituality.during this journey he finds a companion in Babita. I have always been active in theater during my college days. As life got in the way, I had to take a hiatus from theater. I was very glad to find out the RGK Dance Academy was looking for actors and have been a part of their productions for the last 4 years. I have enjoyed my time with them. My previous role was in the play KHUSHI (Happiness) as “Heaven”. Although India is a vast country with its own rich culture of eclectic colorful costumes and folk dances. Bollywood ( short name for Indian Film Industry) has provided a convenient , more popular expression of Indian music, dances and themes for decades and has helped popularize them all over the globe. I always feel alive when I am part of such productions expressing Indian Themes, dances and culture. This feeling of being alive continues to fuel my passion and keeps me motivated. I feel privileged to be able to share the culture and dances from my heritage.

She also has a passion for drawing and art! Experience: Ballet at Moore than Dance and QC Dance - 8 years since age 3 Irish Dance with O’Shea Irish Dance including the Irish Festival - Summers 2018 and 2019 Chinese Dance with Twin City Chinese Dance Center including Lunar New Years Performances - 4 years, 2021 to present. Bollywood Dance with RGK Dance Academy - Summer 2023 to present. Passion and Motivation: “Dance is something I loved to do ever since I was little. To me dancing in an art of happiness.”

Have performed in school in skits and dances but did not continue during college and university as got busy in completing my PhD in social Science and MBA in HR and Corporate Social Responsibility. Have a training in TV Journalism and mass communication. Have been professional emcee for live and video events since 1997 in India, UK, and USA. As an emcee at cultural and spiritual events (small and large) I have kept the informed and engaged. I like being part of initiative that is to bring happiness, laugher and joy in people’s life.
