Alexis Camille
performerAlexis (she/they) is a combat veteran and former U.S. Marine whose passion for storytelling has taken them from two tours in Iraq to stages and screens across the country. Alexis has performed internationally with Minnesota's renowned all-Black comedy troupe, Blackout Improv and appeared in festivals around the world. Their creative work spans theater, directing, producing, and film, including producing The Royal We, directing for the Tiny Funny Women’s Improv Festival, and earning a Best Actress nomination for their leading role in the short film Bathroom Break. Whether on stage or on screen, Alexis brings heart, humor, and a spirit of fearless collaboration to every performance. They have been playing with Soap Prov since its inception 3 years ago.
Jex Arzayus
Creator/PerformerJex Arzayús is a Latinx transman actor and multidisciplinary artist based in the Twin Cities, with over eight years of professional acting experience. Jex directs and performs in Soap-Prov, and has performed on many of the twin cities' stages and beyond. Jex Co founded “Queers Crush Comedy” a LGBTQA+ focused comedy club every 4th Wednesday of the month at Black Hart Bar in St Paul. Shout out to my partner Ora Hues who has worked tirelessly to design all our postcards and socials and who filmed and edited our Soap Prov Web series coming soon. Also hanging with the kittens, Thor and Rune is a priority..

PerformerLaura Hild
PerformerLaura’s love of comedy started as a child when she watched SNL and David Letterman with her dad. She has been dabbling in the comedic arts for the past ten years in the Twin Cities. Performing improv, sketch, dance, and also writing and producing shows. She is a member of the improv teams Soap Prov, BVTTMVNCH, After Dark at Camp Bar, and is a ComedySportz player. Her sketch group, Maxxeapolis, is also participating in Fringe this year! She loves a good steak off the grill and snuggling with her cat, Charlie. Laura is also the co director of Soap Prov and an original member of the troupe since its inception.
Simone LeClaire
PerformerSimone LeClaire is a queer director, editor, and screenwriter whose work blends autobiography, imagination, and a deep commitment to collaborative storytelling. Their films have screened at more than 30 festivals across the Midwest and internationally, earning recognition for their writing, humor, and unique perspective. Simone’s award-winning short Bathroom Break was distributed by Tello Films, and they have also edited several feature films, including the queer rom-com Merry & Gay. A founding member of Soap Prov, Simone has been with the troupe since its inception three years ago.
Rachel Buhman Buhman
PerformerMahmoud Hakima
PerformerMahmoud has been a staple of the Twin Cities acting and improv community for the past 20 years. He can regularly be seen performing with the improv troupes Sympathetic Magic, Jesters Comedy, and Fantastic Voyage, as well as a monthly gig with the murder mystery comedy show The Dinner Detective. Mahmoud was introduced to soap operas as a teen, where he developed a secret crush on Vanessa Marcil of General Hospital. Sadly, that crush went nowhere, but this Fringe year has been way more productive! You can also catch Mahmoud in M at the Barbara Baker Center for Dance and Stories From the Trauma Dump at Phoenix Theater. Ora Hues
Communications Designer /Performer/Tech/BlackOut GodOra Hues is an award-winning filmmaker, playwright, and artist. Their debut short film, Arousal Broom, earned Best New Artist honors at the Z-Fest Film Festival and was also featured at the Ely Film Festival. On stage, Ora made their debut as a writer and director at last year's Minnesota Fringe Festival, where their original production La Tunda: a reimagining of a Colombian folktale earned a coveted Golden Lanyard Award. This year, Ora returns to Soap Prov as the Communications Designer, Performer and Teach Black Out God. They are also directing and filming Soap Prov's first original web series, which will premiere on the company's YouTube channel following the Fringe Festival. Ora's creative work can be found through Closed Mondays Productions on Instagram, as well as across Soap Prov's social media platforms. When they're not creating films, theater, or digital content, Ora enjoys ultimate frisbee, canoeing, biking, camping, and spending time with their cat, Rune.
Danielle Lynch
PerformerRobby Miller
PerformerRobby Miller is a Twin Cities-based performer and improviser, excited to return to the Minnesota Fringe Festival with his Improv troupe Soap Prov. Robby graduated from Hamline University in 2018 with a degree in Theatre Arts and has previous Minnesota Fringe credits, including The News with Clevername Theatre (2018) and Plaid Tales with No Way Theatre (2019). He has also held various administrative roles in the local arts scene, working with companies such as Hennepin Arts, Park Square Theatre, and the Minnesota Fringe itself. When he's not performing around the Twin Cities improv scene, Robby is an avid world traveler, father to his orange tabby cat Akito, and a die-hard Minnesota Timberwolves fan, where he has been a member of the team's Action Pack for the past several years.
