A lovely show

A really lovely show with fantastic clowning bits and real heart. Also one of the magic tricks will haunt my dreams forever as I try to figure out how Tyler did it.

Funny, astonishing, and sharp in the right places

I sat in the front row for this one and was very glad I did; Tyler is a marvelous clown and comedian, with some delightful tricks (in the technical sense), great timing, and expressive physical presence. He's also a great actor (I would donate blood to see him do Shakespeare, my God, the Edmund he gave us 🤯). The writing on this show is incisive and unexpectedly sharp in ways that last long after the ending bow. Highly recommended!

The man makes the show!!

My dad saw this show before me and couldn’t stop talking about it. And despite the fact that he ruined the ending for me, I had a wonderful time! Tyler is a fantastic performer with so much range as a clown, Shakespearean soliloquiest, and heartfelt storyteller. Just be careful…you might get hit with a pool noodle.

What a Way to Begin

This is the first show I saw this year, and it was a fantastic beginning to the festival. Tyler expertly walks the tightrope of entertaining the audience while also challenging them. Great show.

Engaging from start to finish

So far this is my personal pick for best show at the festival. Hopefully this show is eligible for an encore performance at the Phipps so as many people as possible can see this truly remarkable production as possible.

We really enjoyed Tyler's show and it's clear he's a very talented performer. The show was fast paced, funny and insightful. Ahead of Fringe opening, this show was one we added to our must-see list, and it absolutely did not disappoint.

Brilliantly Varied

Fast-paced humor is filled with honest dialogue that expresses his emotional experience; Tyler draws on a wide variety of performance skills to present his story. With acrobatics, magic, juggling, and more, this piece whips from thoughtful to comical to critical in an easily entertaining and engaging manner. Tyler is a masterful performer and expertly uses his talents to make a poignant statement. It’s his story but has a message for everyone. I highly recommend this performance.

A touching play

Touching play about life that made me laugh and feel sad at parts. Tyler was a high energy and engaging performer!

funny and so much more

I expected the show to be funny, and it was. The physical comedy was spot on. The show was also in turns tender, intense and absurd in ways that worked. The scene set to Satie's Gymopedie No. 1 (if I remember correctly) was mesmerizingly beautiful. Go see it!

A Lot To Process

The show offers a vaudeville like range of talents displayed by on person. Comedy, story telling, physical comedy and audience participation. You also get some history of dwarfism and a sense of the obstacles a professional has to face in the entertainment world. The prime obstacle to success seems to be the limited imagination of others.Humorous but also consciousness raising.

So funny, creative and thought provoking!

I absolutely loved Small Minded. It was incredibly funny and interactive — I even ended up on stage! Tyler mixes clowning, physical comedy, magic and so much more into a show that is just incredibly fun. But what really stayed with me was when he talked about the contradiction he faces as an entertainer with dwarfism — wanting to make people laugh while also navigating an industry that has too often reduced people with dwarfism to stereotypes or made them the joke. I laughed a lot, learned a lot, and walked away thinking about something I honestly hadn’t thought enough about before. Funny, entertaining and eye-opening. A really great Fringe experience.

Endearing, Funny and Moving

This man is an incredible physical comedian. I was blown away by his mime skills. The "story" made me emotional but it was paired with amazing physical comedy and really lovely sound design. Big fan of this.

What an incredibly smart and incisive show! It is the best brand of show — one in which you learn so much without even meaning to. Fabulous clown work, extremely moving storytelling, and a clever arc to the piece.

Lots of laughs, for sure

He is a talented clown and storyteller. There were some excellent moments, but the show is overall uneven. I wish he had delved deeper, and with more clarity, into the shows theme. I did laugh a lot, though.
