A Unique Theatrical Experience... Each Time

I've seen Life robotic twice now. Both times were riotously funny. And both times were very different shows. Since their is SO much audience input, not only was the story very different, but even the overall prevailing comedy vibe felt different each time. The audience seemed more into borderline dark humor the first time, and the second time the crowd seemed to pile on more to outright absurdism. The cast did tremendously in both contexts. Michael Rogers is a joyful standout as the lead robot, stringing together text lines in a unified but still hilariously eccentric way.

These two clearly love their craft and that love is contagious. Plenty of laughs!

Linnea Bond is incredible

Very thankful to have seen this show! The show creator, Linnea Bond, does a phenomenal job in her delivery of big humor moments, and micro humor moments. The way she chose to share her personal medical journey is so inventive and well done. I felt like the ending didn't quite do it for me, but ymmv.

Live theater in a very live setting

I applaud the production for taking the risk on performing in such an open and public venue. They do great with it! And the very "live" setting allows for some beautiful chance moments; after a character talked about her beloved dog that passed away, a pedestrian walked by on the visible public sidewalk with her dog. Boo Segerson was a standout to me. However, the writing and pacing didn't fully enrapture me and I had a hard time connecting with most the characters.

Funny, naturalistic, and quite Minnesotan

I enjoyed my time with the campout. There's a nice physical set with real tents and all the improvisors are naturalistic performers but still really funny. They're quite cozy and comfortable together up there on stage. Since they don't take any suggestions from the audience or explain how the show works or anything, you kinda have to take their word on it all being made up. I thought they improvised the story line about the dead friend, but then later they brought out a tin of ashes, so at least that part was clearly planned. That left me feeling a little cheated I guess.
