More Information
Emily Michaels King has created and performed with many groups throughout the Twin Cities and beyond, but her one-women Fringe show will be her first full-length self produced solo. She's combining her experience from projects like ANIMUS (by her collaborative duo E/D) and LOVE'S LABOR'S LOST (by the Moving Company) with her signature blend of movement, aesthetics, personal truth, and laser attention to detail in her latest work.
Magic Girl, an Ode to Rainbow Brite, is a one woman show that uses movement, soundscape, microphones, and light to explore personal history, nostalgia, and the constraints of femininity. Poignant and irreverent, captivating and unapologetic, Magic Girl is an iridescent celebration of womanhood, nostalgia, and unabashed self love.
