I don’t care about Shakespeare but I live for J&J
As someone who grew up in theater and has frequently been told that Shakespeare was a genius who we should all reviere and perform his shows annually, I’ve never really gotten the hype - not more than for many other shows written throughout time that is. I ultimately find his shows fine. I understand the language enough but generally find his work inaccessible to modern audiences and his stories out of touch with modern experience and societal structures. HOWEVER I absolutely jump at any opportunity to see Juliet and Juliet perform. These two performers think at the speed of light and improvise with such joy and mastery over the genre that is absolutely captivating. I cannot recommend this show enough - even to those who don’t care for Shakespeare or Improv for one bit. It’s just that damn good.
