If you're given 60 minutes to perform as a Fringe artist and you're performing for 45 minutes, what are you doing with the other 15 minutes?

Once the show concludes, musicbyskippy will offer merchandise and a tip box to help cover traveling and meal costs as a touring artist from Kansas City, Missouri. Merchandise options include buttons, key chains, and band hats to make them easy to transport around your Fringe experience!

What do you mean by "interactive?"

During the show an audience member will be serenaded by musicbyskippy, another will be invited up to learn a short dance called the "Skippy Shuffle," and there will be a short Q&A built within the show. No audience member will be forced to participate but all are welcome and encouraged to take part in this one-of-a-kind experience (kids love it!).

Artistic Statement

After being a semi-professional performer for five years, I quit my job as a communications strategist in November 2021 to be a freelance creative producer and entertainer full-time in Kansas City, Missouri. Since then I've grown musicbyskippy, a music variety show for attending audiences ages 3 to 100. Due to my 18 year practice as a beatboxer, also known as a vocal percussionist, all my music ties together through rhythm-heavy compositions. This and my obsession for authenticity is why audience members describe some of my performances as a Broadway show, a dance party, and a philosophy class in one sitting.

Musicbyskippy is the vessel for audiences to confront the full spectrum of their emotions, becoming child-like when dancing, crying, cheering, laughing, or jeering at my different song originals or covers. No matter their reactions, my unrelenting optimism to connect with them stems from receiving a liver transplant at the age of 11 months old, giving me a second chance to perform for everyone, everywhere.

Whether I rap about my bisexuality, use counting and the alphabet to teach kids about beatboxing, or create pop up dance parties while wearing a helmet to become a humanoid, I strive to stay in touch with people at all stages of life so they know through music, they can find happiness, passion, and purpose.t you l
