About the age rating:
There is no violence, sexual situations, nudity, or profanity (at least not the sort you would find on 21st century Earth). There is music, movement, and fun costumes that may appeal to younger audiences. While the plot may be a bit over a younger child's head, I don't think there's anything that I would consider definitely inappropriate for children.
However, I would advise that parents use their discretion. This is a play about an apocalypse of sorts, and there are scenes that deal with impending doom and discussions of death and loss, as well as a portrayal of a fictional natural disaster.
