Kickass
Obsessed with this show and this crew! The performances were outstanding across the board, the script was so smart and suspenseful, the use of the space was utterly brilliant, and the heightened elements of song and light and movement and puppetry all killed. I wish it could be longer than 60 minutes. And I hope this play has a long life of performance elsewhere!
Company: SUPERMOON
Show: All Your Shimmering Gold
Venue: Rarig Stoll Thrust Theatre
I was stunned
The innovation, creativity, and execution of this show were all phenomenal, as was the premise itself: brilliantly conceived, brilliantly written, brilliantly performed, brilliantly fringey. Funny, horrifying, poetic, gutsy as hell, and beyond worth seeing. A tremendous accomplishment.
Company: The Winding Sheet Outfit
Show: The Spirit Moves You To Color The Unseen
Venue: Rarig Stoll Thrust Theatre
Utterly absorbing
This was my first Winding Sheet show and I AM HOOKED. Visually and sonically stunning. Bold in its crossing of genres and styles. Beautiful world-building through movement and sound and color, as well as truly delightful, rooted performances. Loved the inclusion of a director figure too. Fascinating subject matter that I can’t wait to learn more about.
Company: Brad Lawrence
Show: The Big Secret
Venue: Rarig Kilburn Theatre
Powerful story powerfully performed
Brad brought immense skill, heart, and affability to his performance; he is clearly an accomplished, talented, and nuanced writer-storyteller. But what really blew me away was the tremendous humility, vulnerability, honesty, and respect with which he told this story. To be frank, I do not usually hear the stories/secrets of teenaged girls treated with such empathy, understanding, and honor as Brad so beautifully gave to his friend’s story—and his own. I was moved to tears at the history he shared and also the message he pulled out of it. More people should see this.

Delightful and surprisingly deep!
Had an absolute blast at this one. Excellent performances, smart direction, clever writing, and a heartfelt depth to it.
Company: KAIROS Dance Theater
Show: husk/vessel
Venue: The Southern Theatre
Evocative, emotional, and exciting
Truly breathtaking performance in the Southern Theater, which is the PERFECT venue for this show. Rich physical storytelling by gifted dancers, well supported by compelling sound design, lighting, and costumes. Even folks (like me) without a strong dance background will be immediately drawn in and deeply moved by this piece. I may try to see it again!
