Clever and well-acted take on a story we all know.
The production begins with explanation and the fight call and intimacy call. For those in the audience unfamiliar with these practices will find it interesting. It also gives an insight into how crucial these practices are to safe performances. Then the fun begins. Once the actors know what roles they will be performing, we see the stage prepped and story begin. Since the tale is so well known, we easily follow it and frankly, the cutting of this classic script is tight and concise. The delivery is honest, subtle, crystal clear, and spoken with ease. TRP proves to be an excellent venue for this staging. The story told stills hold a solid punch in the gut at the anticipated end. For those in the audience that know the script well will enjoy filling in the breaks in the cutting and those few who may not know it as well will not be lost in the story. A very impressive presentation with a clever twist.
