Welcome Back, Douscheburg
When "A Sad Carousel" was first performed a decade and a half ago, it was a quintessential Fringe experience. And my fondness for that kind of time at the Fringe bubbled up suddenly as soon as I heard, "The airport lounge." I wish I had seen it right when the Fringe started, because its a show that makes you excited for the potential contained within each fringe show and excited to see another. It's hard to quantify that feeling, but what I think it boils down to is a willingness to play with the format and push at the boundaries of what a show is and can be. ASC2 is always playing, and maybe some of that doesn't work for certain audience members, but that play is what also makes the Fringe a great experience and the kind of dragon one chases to the end of their Fringing days.
