Full of laughs

The audience was laughing the whole time. It was a fun stand-up conversational vibe with great energy. I'm so glad Chris took a chance on traveling to MN to entertain us, take a chance and meet him at his show!

Quality Comedic Storytelling

[Review based on Show 2 of "Just Black Enough"] I attended the show based on a friend's endorsement and was not disappointed. The material was solid and I enjoyed (though didn't participate in) the audience participation segment. If you make it out to Strike, be sure to include this show.

Just Black Enough: Some great bits

[We saw this on Chris' opening night, presenting Just Black Enough] We especially loved Chris' wide ranging knowledge in the 'ban that book' segment. Great improv and an impressive breadth of knowledge. His last part about black comedians was also super well done, and such a change from the previous 35 minutes. Biggest issue: The show was short, really short. I would have loved to see more of these ideas explored with Chris' obvious talent.

Chris Davis does (not gay) stuff

Chris has a really good conversationally toned show. He recounts his high school experience (where being a band geek was somehow cool), all the way through metrosexuality, and up until the present of being a straight man in a gay world. Easy going charm and comedic observations make this a great out of town standout show.

Just Funny Enough

To be fair, Chris is more than funny enough. He had us laughing, groaning, chuckling and giggling throughout the show. I'm always a little nervous about audience participation shows, but this only involved asking folks to shout out ideas.

I hope Chris comes back to MN Fringe

Chris was funny and warm and knocked down stereotypes. The story of the first person he knew who had AIDS and the first person he knew who died of AIDS was moving. I hope that Chris' number comes up for him to participate in future Fringes.

White lives matter

Feel like the whiteness of the Minnesota audience kept him from any edge... Seemed like polite dinner table conversation rather than comedy

Chris is just do darn charming...

I had the pleasure of having Chris as a guest storyteller in my show, and he was so brilliant and funny. It only made me more excited to see his show, and he did not disappoint at all. Chris is so funny and personable, and he has a magical way of making everyone feel part of the show. Please get out to Strike Theater to see his show. It's worth the short drive (and you can easily get back to Rarig for the next show!).

Comedic Relief

What a delight it was to see traveling artist Chris Davis on Sunday! Of the solo shows I’ve seen, this was refreshing as it was like watching a live stand up comedy special. A respite from the intense (but also wonderful!) personal storytelling I have seen this weekend. Chris is also an improvisor and I enjoyed how he incorporated these moments into the show. He was laid back and charming and really rolled with whatever any one suggested. Insightful and hilarious. I hope this is the beginning of seeing Chris Davis at MN Fringe regularly. (Also, I mean, I could talk about butter anytime, so bonus content star.)
