Great play in a small space
The production all around was wonderful from the acting, music, and story. However, a large flaw for this production was placing it in the cramped black box theater. While I appreciate the intimate setting for such a spooky tale, it hindered the audiences ability to see the actors, especially when they were on the floor. I was seated in the third row and had an obstructed view for both Kayla and Nissa’s performance. And while I appreciate the addition of live music, I feel that the production could have greatly benefited from the additional space. Highly recommend getting there early and sitting in the front row so you don’t miss a thing!

Has promise
This play has promise, but I agree with the other reviews that the story was at times confusing and not as fleshed out as I would have hoped. This play also suffered from too many transitions to shift the cubes into a new “location”. I really enjoyed the actors performances, especially Shad Cooper as the father.

Hillbillies in medieval times?
A disjointed collection of songs about medieval times. Recommend sitting close to the front to hear the actors over the music. While I found some of the songs to be quite charming and catchy, the addition of a southern twang/cowboy roundup and the mention of Covid/lizard people/anti-vax rant felt like an abrupt shift out of the established world and a shot for cheap laughs.

Storytelling at its best.
An amazing, funny, heart wrenching call to action. You do not want to miss this performance!

Uffda
While I applaud Motz’s vulnerability and perseverance to put this show on stage, this show suffered greatly from lack of preparedness and theatricality. If you didn’t have the privilege of seeing his previous Fringe show, like myself, I can’t say that I recommend seeing this show due to feeling like we are missing out on context.

Disjointed collection
The show as a whole felt disjointed and lacked a through line. Each piece vastly varied in its ability to keep my attention or hit its point within the time frame given. I feel that the actors did the best that they could given the material.
