A fairytale about weapons of war
Brilliant and multi-faceted like a prism, All Your Shimmering Gold is a harrowing spectacle with a poignant topic. The use of lights, projections, video, and music add to this whimsical dark fairy tale about weapons of mass destruction. It's off-set by a cold and callous business trying to sell those weapons and the hollow, hard facts of the weapons themselves that create a sinking tension—all building to what their cost is. And like any good fairy tale, the cost is always insurmountable and intangible, and something deeply human. It's a must-see this Fringe with incredible performances all around!

Compelling and Poignant
This show was a brilliant adaption of a novel—for a sci-fi story, it translated to the stage in an incredible way. In particular, the script is wickedly smart. The use of audience participation to include them in the One State and the nearly solo performance of Jeffrey Nolan, oscillating between several characters expertly, really aided to this idea that we were all "one". Beyond that, Hawken Paul masterfully takes us through the story musically. The music added such a compelling and dynamic layer to the play, filling out the space and transforming it for us. I also loved the use of lights, shadows, and projections. Extremely clever and the visuals were striking. And to wrap it all up, it was a poignant and dire topic of conformity and fascism. This may be my favorite Jackdonkey production I've seen to date!

A Show Based on Hope
Hilarious and tender — Sam brings us on a ride through an incredibly vulnerable part of his life. I loved the opening and this idea of a play based on hope. I loved how strange and almost meta it was, to be reflecting forward in time, rather than backwards. Leah Sweere is both the rock and a star (rockstar) with the many puppets, streamers, and roles she effortlessly switches between throughout this show. Excellent work and a must-see!

The Light(house) of Fringe!
An absolute delight! From the physical comedy to the crowd work — this show was a blast. Well acted and well timed. The comedy allowed the audience into the world and story in a way that was fun and refreshing!

Tattooed in my mind forever
An incredibly clever, thoughtful, and fun show! Alleged really shines with their whiplash humor and ability to include the audience in a way that didn't just make us laugh but also brought us into the heart of the trios' issues. Surprisingly tender and bittersweet — The Temporary Tattoo Trio is a must-see of Fringe and leaves us contemplating the changes of friendship and how long my own temporary tattoo will last.
