Empathetic Storytelling 101

Remember the idiom "walk a mile in someone else's shoes"? The storytellers at Thursday's "Here I Am" opening taught a master class in empathy. The loss of a father, unending love, a life-changing manic episode, an accidental protestor, and a lesbian musical celebration of survival reminded the audience to listen with an open heart. It's not about me; it's about us.
