Great storytelling with limited time
Because of limited time, too many Fringe shows rely on a sledgehammer of soliloquy and unrealistic conversations to get the exposition out of the way. Academonic does an excellent job letting the exposition happen naturally as part of the story. The unknowns enhance the narrative in the best way. While all the actors submit great performances (10/10 carpet acting) - the lead actress did an amazing job of holding the disparate drama and comedic elements together. She was an amazing point of stability for the other characters to play off of and her frustrations were relatable and relevant. I would love to see this expanded to a full production to more fully develop the characters choices and internal struggles. There is a lot of potential here and can easily see this hitting a 90-120 minute run time.
