Kings of Crab
A ferocious and gripping story. The ensemble is not only cohesive, but grounded with powerhouse performances. The tension is thick and palpable, broken with moments of humor and music that quiet the danger, if only for a moment. The movement direction is captivating, taking the audience through rolling waves and frantic swells as the crew tries to keep their wits about them in an isolated endless sea. The practical light effects were ghostly and wonderful. It’s an atmospheric piece that you get lost in. The puppetry was a show stopper. It was an absolute treat to witness this group of creatives debut this piece, and I look forward to whatever they decide to tackle next.
