Supremely Theatrical
This show revels in theatricality. It tells the story in a way that only theatre can. Between the music, the singing, the lighting, the puppets, the staging, the props, the acting, the movement, the shifting of time, it was everything I love about theatre. I hope this one gets a remount.

A send up and an homage.
I hadn't read the original since... high school? College? But the play provides enough of a review that I could follow without issue. Both a send up and an homage to the classic novel, the whole cast tells the story with grace, humor, and fear (where appropriate). The song and dance number between Cathy and Heathcliff allows their talents to shine beyond the already stellar acting.

So much more than I expected
I've always loved Jabberwocky and now I see it in a new light. Cleverly and boldly told in a loveletter to the poem and a deep analysis of ... psychosis? Dementia? Mental health in general? All three players give us their parts of this world with absolute conviction. Also, extremely clever use of the space and three simple boxes.

Show: The Abortion Chronicles
Venue: Rarig Kilburn Theatre
Powerful stories told by powerful women.
Supremely important to the time we live in, these tales are powerfully told without fear or stigma, just like abortion care should be.
