What a fun show.
Dilly Dally were hilarious and their guest director (Alison, though I missed her last name) was so quick and chose just the right moments to interject and raise the stakes, and the laughs. A great time.

Fun use of space and expectations
There's too much in this you shouldn't give away, so I will just say that it cleverly thwarts the expectations it sets up and then turns them on the performer himself. This is done through innovative uses of the space and narrative.

Inventive staging that supports the story
I felt like I got to know the subject of the play in an intimate and impactful way AND also enjoyed the ways the cast and director played with theatrical conventions. All teh elements, the storytelling, the symbolic blocking and staging, and the breaking of the fourth wall were all perfectly balanced to complement and support one another and create an experience that felt both personal and innovative.

Thought provoking and moving
This flet very authentic to the experience of a deep friendship that lasts years and persists over distance. I was left thinking about my closest male friend and how our relationship has grown and changed over the years. If you want to have your closest or oldest friend called up in your mind and heart, go see this show.

This one is already the talk of the Fringe
But I will second, third, and fourth everyone in town. I added both Mendelsohns to my Spotify playlist after this because she left me feeling so connected to these two people, both of whom she portrayed so skillfully.
Company: Deconstructing Directing
Show: Director's Cut: Where Play Becomes Magic
Venue: Rarig Kilburn Theatre
I enjoyed this dive into process
Andrew leads you through the directorial process in a very accessible way, point out little bits of technique and insight that you might never detect from the audience. If you like shows that give you a little peek into how things work, this one is for you.

Very clever
He uses very clever stage craft to navigate an emotionally fraught subject to great effect.
