Have Some Greatness Thrust Upon You!
Get your Twelfth Night in one clean hour with a cast of lovers, siblings, and buffoons singing, dancing, and playing their talented way through tightly directed scenes stitched together with commentary both insightful, ribald, and snarky. With all of those roles filled by one really talented actor. Some great shows at the Fringe totally surprise you, but my bar for Timothy Mooney is set about as high as it can go, and he still gracefully clears it year after year.

Show: Breach
Venue: Theatre in the Round
Into the Storm
Breach grabbed me right from the opening scene, and never let go. The show has so much of what I love about Fringe; creativity, tension, physical movement, a truly awesome puppet, song, and great performances directed and lit to make the whole better than the already fabulous parts. Some shows use this space well; with Breach the rotational energy of the cast playing to all sides just adds to the metaphorical whirlpool of circumstances pulling the ship, the crew, and anything caught in its path (like this audience member) inexorably inward, inward, and down. See it if you can!
