Interesting self-reflection

Nice gentle storytelling. Although I could not relate to the majority of his references, I was still drawn in. How often we want to know "the story behind" an interesting person we see on the street. Here you go.

Company: Jared Reise

A look back in time and out to space

I enjoyed this a lot. Cleverly conceived. Well staged. The story loses steam part way through. Definitely worth a look.

Company: JexArzayus Productions
Show: La Tunda: A Reimagining of a Colombian Folklore
Venue: Mixed Blood

An interesting folk story.

An energetic telling of a story of self-discovery. The shape-shifting La Tunda is an interesting facet of Colombian folklore.

Show: Clown Funeral

Good concept f

Lots of energy. Much improv. A fun concept.

Company: Theatre on the Rocks
Show: A Good Cancer to Have
Venue: Mixed Blood

Personal story well told.

When you hear an engaging story on the Moth Radio Hour and want to hear even more, this is what you would come up with. Cleverly staged and almost all the comedic bits work well. Sam is well-supported by his wife, Leah.

Company: Dogdog-Beardog
Show: Ranger Jim
Venue: Rarig Kilburn Theatre

Amazing stories!

Superb storyteller. Amazing stories. A wonderful, gripping experience. Put "Ranger Jim" at the top of your to-see list. Our national parks are under attack, so this is a performance for our times.

Company: Michael Quadrozzi
Show: Against My Will
Venue: Rarig Nolte Xperimental Theatre

Well told story.

Well written and very well performed. He references a therapist in the audience. I felt that as an audience member that I was sitting 'in loco' therapist. Luckily, this client was very open and giving. I learned a lot from this session.

Company: Kyle B. Dekker
Show: A Completely Serious and Not At All Comedic Review of Farts, Flatus, and Flatulence, AKA The Fart Show
Venue: Mixed Blood

What a hoot (or toot).

If Harpo Marx and Teller (of Penn &) were in the sixth grade together, this is the science project that they would have presented. The narration is sometime hard to follow because the activity on the stage draws your attention, and I just found it not loud enough, which is too bad because there was a lot of historical/scientific information cleverly written therein. I should probably go back and raise my review 1/2 Kitty, lest I be seen as being overly harsh on a young person. So imagine that I might have given it 4 Kitties. I did laugh a lot.

Company: Ethan Nienaber/ GJ Media
Show: What We Wore
Venue: Open Eye Theatre

Go see this show.

This is a complex, well presented, entertaining journey that she takes us on. I was not aware of her status as a social media creator. It's interesting to see her try to separate herself from the "character" she has developed for TikTok. Putting clothing into historical context was fascinating. I highly recommend this show.
