Rev. Matt's Monster Science is a show that I make sure to see as often as possible! Not only are there great jokes and humorous slides, but you get to learn more about monsters and extinct beasts. What's not to love?

Funny and Preview Sold

Preview night made me want to come out to this. Good cap off to my first fringe night.

Hits the ball out of Satan's...

Great Fun. Matt talks all things Satan, with PowerPoint. Informative and great laughs. Can't wait for the other shows. A breakneck pace and still perfect timing.

Best Lecture Ever!

This was my very first Monster Science show! It was so much fun! This topic was about Norse Mythology....facinating! He even pronounded the words correctly (with a little help from Boo Segersin)! I wish all my college professors had lectured like this! It was great fun. I am now a fan!

New Yorker Magazine's edutainment

This review is from seeing show/greatest hit lecture #4 of 5 featuring comedic absurdism commentary primarily surrounding Norse mythology. In one sentence: fantasy-enthused humor for mostly fantasy-enthused people. In three sentences: this strictly reading-from-a-book Reverend has found a really engaged audience of monster-loving, lore-leaning, smart-comedy pupils. As someone who has been exposed to a lot of the featured content and took away a handful of interesting modern-day origin stories, my rating stayed stagnant due to the Fringer's frequently asking for proper pronunciations of names from a single audience member and, at times, I felt a bit talked down to un-ironically due to not understanding some of the hyper-specific content. Nonetheless, this Fringer has turned a hobby into a classroom, passing down a fun dictionary of knowledge in a lecture series requiring meticulous attention to detail.

They're All Great

I have chosen to see Dinosaurs and Muppets for my Monster Science Greatest Hits. You would be wise to make your choice and reserve ahead. The depth of knowledge Reverend Matt brings to his "lectures" is matched only by his wit. I had previously seen his dinosaur show, but I was eager to see it again because my head is not built to remember genera and species, only jokes and great visuals. Funny and informative, Monster Science delivered again.

Dinosaurs are fun

A simple set (just a chair) with great PowerPoint slides. We saw his show about dinosaurs. Matt kept the audience riveted and entertained with his humor and presentation.

Dinosaur Dinosaur Dinosaur

I don't think I've seen Rev Matt before, which is surprising given the number of fans who have seen him before, lined up to see his show. I saw episode #2, "Top 10 Dinosaurs." It's a really well written show and the delivery was quite good. I feel like this would have been a 5 kittie show in an initial run, but the delivery today didn't feel as fresh as it might have. What I liked best about this show, was the simple format of a nerd presenting a fun presentation on a topic he is passionate about. Inspires me to think that maybe I could one day write and peform in the Fringe myself. Good show to see with youngsters. If you have never seen Matt before, you'll have a hard time missing him at this years Fringe, since it seems he is in all the shows (3 of them).
