My wife and I really enjoyed the show. It had the cute. It had the sappy. It had the romantic drama. It was ultimately a love story with real issues. And we loved it. It was just the story this heart needed on a sweaty Saturday afternoon!

Beautiful

This show was cleverly written, endearing and well-performed. To pull off this full plot in 45 minutes was stunning. The actors both gracefully and authentically bring you along for a relatable ride. Go see this show!!

A must see!

Great performances and chemistry from these two. I was quite moved to see the story unfold. A clever use of storytelling and space given the limited setup. Do yourself a favor and see this show 👍👍 excited to see what these two will venture into next!

Top-rate professional performance

This is definately not the cast's 'first rodeo.' Experienced actors and musicians. While this isn't a requirement for Fringe, it made for a very enjoyable hour. The story was heartwarming, funny, and the couple's decisions and arguments (optimize for myself or for the partnership?) were very relatable. Recommended. We had fun!

See This Winner!

I LOVED this play! I took a neighbor and we both thought it was one of the best Fringe plays we had ever seen. The entire audience was very engaged thanks to the great acting, music, and script. As I was leaving the theater I heard one person say that it was better than the last two Guthrie plays she had attended. Lots of humor and lots of heart. wish I could see it again.

Sincere, clever and fun!

The Duet is a heartfelt journey through the highs and lows of a couple’s professional and personal relationship. It is also extremely funny! The actors have delightful chemistry, musical talent and comedic timing. There are two original songs which are beautifully written and performed. I loved the playful banter and the sweet moments. I felt myself rooting for both the couple and their band in moments of conflict and struggle. I’m definitely rooting for The Duet!

Fate Fantastic

A sweet story with a tangy edge. The actors had great chemistry and tons of charm. It’s fun to root for love (and the storyline performance) to succeed. I loved the final song. Bravo!

You're likely signing up for a Hallmark TV movie

This review is from seeing show #1. In one sentence: if you like Hallmark TV movies and country music, you most likely will enjoy this story about trying to find passion after artistic burn out. In three sentences: if Reba McEntire and Garth Brooks teamed up and made a TV movie, this show is that, offering a predictable yet solid script and storyline. The female lead was stronger than the male lead, both have a strong desire and slightly miss having a country twang, and when I predicted the next moments to happen, they did 90% of the time. But if you want an overall feel good plot line, this show could be a nice break among an intense Fringe schedule.

Show Some Love and See Traveling and Local Duet

I enjoyed the nice duet with a transition into their hotel room and scenes between the past and the present. I was amazed at the minimalistic, yet perfect set, props, costumes and wigs that needed to be set up and struck in a short amount of time. Regarding sound: they projected well without a mic in the hotel scenes, and I appreciated the use of the microphone as a prop and for sound quality during concerts. Show some love and support traveling and local artists. Thanks.

Five Boots Out of Five

This show unfolds very well with a natural and punchy back and forth that's funny, full of sorrow, nostalgic, cynical, and overall heartfelt and entertaining. The two have great chemistry and the whole thang is a lovely rollercoaster that'll captivate you whether or not you like country (I don't)!

When are they going on tour?

I loved this heartfelt and hilarious Duet! I became so completely lost in the wonderful storytelling and music, that I began to feel saddened knowing that the talented band on stage was fictional. The song at the end moved me to tears and I wish I could hear it on the radio over and over again! This show is an absolute joy to see and I can’t wait to find out what is next for these two!

An incredibly sweet, humorous play about a country music husband-wife duo who have faded from the spotlight. Excellent original story and performances. A must see!

Beautiful

Beautiful. Beautiful. Beautiful. In less capable hands, this piece could drift into saccharine or melodramatic, but the perormers are so gifted and honest in their work that they give these characters a beating heart that you pray wont break. Their intense presence in each moment, whether heartfelt or hilarious, kept me riveted. Turns out my lucky coin was a fringe token to see this show.

A charming, sweet, and loving show by two wonderful artists. Have fun watching the story of Leo and Stella as they navigate a pivotal crossroads as live musicians and lovers, with whiskey, tequila, and laughs along the way.

This show was so fun to watch. The creativity was special, unique and so fun. I wished that I wasn’t working on the other times of the show-I’d really love to see it again! Well done!
