Cast and Crew
Matthew Kessen
Writer, performer, catererReverend Matt – once called a combination of David Attenborough and Elvira, Mistress of the Dark in MPR – played by local comedian Matthew Kessen, is the star of “Reverend Matt’s Monster Science” (‘part science, part comedy, all monsters’), a multimedia series of deep studies of the lore of monsters, infused with comedy jokes. It has won Best Solo Show at the Tucson Fringe Festival twice, and Best of Minnesota at the 2020 MN Webfest. And it’s been called “a guaranteed crowd-pleaser” and “a blazing comet of edutainment” by the Racket, and Single White Fringe Geek said of it, “I could not stop grinning the whole time Rev. Matt was talking.” Elora's bio is better than his.
Elora Riley
Performer, co-writerElora Riley (she/her) is a cryptid, UHHH PERFORMER... HUMAN... of the stage and screen based in the Twin Cities. She’s been working as an actor and model for hundreds of years, having earned her degree in the Theatre Arts from the now defunct (boo, save the arts!) theatre department at St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minnesota. You may recognize her from pre-Covid MN Fringe productions, such as Xena and Gabrielle Smash the Patriarchy as well as her debut in Reverend Matt’s Monster Science in How to Come Back from the Dead as his science assistant. She charmed and terrified audiences in 2022 in Dead Mountain at the Twin Cities Horror Fest and in a special revival of Paper Soul Productions’ SOFT. Now, she’s back and better than ever, with a couple stage combat certifications, a vintage 1940s suit, and a stunning skincare routine she’s ACTUALLY sticking to this time. When not educating the general public on various monsters and cryptozoology, Elora rolls dice with friends, stays caffeinated, and takes care of her fancy, feline familiar, Frida.
Ariel Pinkerton
ProducerAriel Pinkerton (producer) has been a long time fan and occasional collaborator with Monster Science. She is honored to produce their show this year. You can see her at Fringe in THE RESILIENT CHILD and 5 PRISONERS.
