My favorite show yet

I was very entertained by this show. I didn’t know what to expect as I wondered upon this particular performance as a fluke while waiting for another show but I liked this one even more than the one I intended on going to. As a mother myself I was very touched by the story. I was very impressed by the talent showcased in this show. The mother character was most a charming actress with a beautiful voice. And the father character was very heartwarming as well and a talented singer. I recommend!

Excellent Weaving of Emotions for Young Parents

This show did an excellent job of expressing the wide range of emotions experienced when a young couple bring a child into their lives. The music was great - it was clever - it fit the bill throughout!

A Unique, Engaging Look At Parenting

This show was well written and well acted throughout, and the story held my interest in the outcome of their family's situation. The two actors had beautiful singing voices and the music for the show was original and successful in telling the story. The musicians were talented and used unique musical solutions to fill in the unseen character dialogue. It's a good show that you should add to your Fringe schedule.

Best musical I’ve seen…but doesn’t work as musical

Best musical I’ve seen so far. And I don’t think it works as a musical at ALL (unless restructuring) I think the instruments being the other characters is brilliant. Like brilliant. But I don’t think the show went as far as it could have. Too much going on in my opinion. 1. I think either you keep the other characters as instruments and make it a sung-thru show 2. Make it a play with music, cut the songs, keep all the instruments. I didn’t love any song enough to justify making it a musical. It was very clunky when we’d get a song, or we’d have 15 min of straight play scenes. I didn’t overly think either lead was 100% there for me. The female identifying performer was great with the “child” on stage, but lacked chemistry for me with the husband, and I found the male identifying performer to miss the mark completely vocally for me. I loved the PowerPoint on the wall following the babies journey, especially with the baby talk already infused on the screen. So smart. I thought sometimes the violinist wasn’t prepared, came in late, and when the screen had GIANT paragraphs, but changed slides in 15 seconds, it was hard to keep up. So much to love. I think this has the potential to be a BEAUTIFUL show. Lots of work to be done. Also figure out. Is this a comedy? What do you want your piece to be. I couldn’t tell if they wanted us to laugh or cry, and if the answer is both, that was muddy as well. Something really special is here. Please keep workshopping it

Talent and Watchability

The show kept me interested for the whole hour. Fun and sad and hopeful. Clever use of voices beyond the two main characters.

Charming Where Hope Meets Anxiety

This is a musical about the joys of welcoming a newborn and the anxiety that follows when you discover your child is threatened by a serious heath is. The music is appropriate but at a times the instruments could be toned down to allow for the vocals to be heard. I was moved. I recommend this but if you have issues around children and illnesses be cautious.

What a wonderfully heart warming story about two young parents! I thought the music was very enjoyable and the young actress in the show was absolutely wonderful. I hope to see more from her in the future! I reccomend this show to anyone looking for a sweet new musical!
