So Much Energy!
I saw "How To Kill a Horse" as a random choice, and I was definitely impressed! One of the most energetic and charismatic solo shows I've seen -- as well as surprisingly informative.
Company: MADROSA
Show: “Well-Made” Bread
Venue: Maison Bodega
So Lovely!
This is a really fun play exploring climate change and food history through the idea of baking a loaf of bread. Loved the commentary on the history and impact of bread-making mixed with very clever props. It's lovely and absurd. You get bread at the end as well! Yay!
Company: Melancholics Anonymous
Show: A Girl Scout’s Guide to Exorcism
Venue: Rarig Center Arena
Perfect for the Fringe
Go to this show! It's got early 2000s nostalgia. It's got queer awakenings. It's got horror. It's got a red-tailed hawk. It's everything that one could want from a Fringe show, and it's spectacularly entertaining. So far, it's my favorite show of the six that I've seen at the 2023 festival.
Company: Special When Lit and The Winding Sheet Outfit
Show: Stabby Stab Stab
Venue: Crane Theater
Absolutely Amazing
I think it can be really hard for adults to portray children in a serious/horror setting, but I was absolutely blown away by the acting in this show. Great care was clearly taken to try and understand Morgan and Anissa. Super engaging. I loved the way that visuals, lighting, and sound were used throughout the performance.

Lovely High Speed Version of Shakespeare
The show flows well and the cast does an excellent job of playing so many different characters. Wonderful version of a great play, and really entertaining to watch!
