Company: Jennifer Vosters
Show: Songs Without Words (or, The Mendelssohn Play)
Venue: Rarig Nolte Xperimental Theatre

Brilliant

What a brilliant piece of theater, and an unparalleled performance . The command and the intensity of Jennifer's performance is profound, it's a complex story, beautifully told. And, it fills you with awe to watch her commander of the content, the characters, the stage and a baton!

Fast paced Shakespeare

Such a whirlwind performance, not sure how he is able to pulls it off, but HE DOES! Delightful and great fun to watch this wonderful accomplishment!!

Company: 2HOOTS PRODUCTIONS
Show: Jon Bennett: AMERICAN'T
Venue: Barbara Barker Center for Dance

Great Story, Wonderfully Told!

Jon has a unique tale to tell, about one of the saddest moments we have all endured, (yes, the pandemic) and it's a rollicking ride. So heartfelt and marvelously funny, as he manages to carry us along on a journey through insane experiences, during insane times. So much humanity, and hilarity in this amazing short story. A must see!!

Company: Vaky Vaky
Show: A Song in the Dark
Venue: Barbara Barker Center for Dance

A remedy to our Paralysis

Vaky Vaky have, with this provocative play, given the audience a means to look beyond the sense of WTF, now what ? By providing clarity on the bombardment of the immoral, outrageous and incomprehensible actions of trump and his minions, we are given an impetus to start to move past our overwhelming fear, and to feel not so alone in that fear. It's not an easy thing to move people to think they can push beyond the assault we experience every damn day. The play is cleverly constructed and moving, as it shows you that it takes one difficult step at a time to change anything. And, it was amazing that the cast approached the audience, to ask the question - what's out there that you know about that can help others to get started in fighting back against this oppressive darkness. That's involvement, and that's what it takes!

Company: Duluth Improv
Show: Duluth: An Improvised Midwest Murder
Venue: Rarig Nolte Xperimental Theatre

Great Time, and Delightful

Laughed so hard and often!! What a marvelous ensemble, clearly enjoying one another's antics, and so easily playing off one another moves. Super improv!!! A must see - I think I might need to see another one of their performances - I know it can't be the same!!

Company: Comfort Zone
Show: Comfort Zone Presents: CHEMISTRY
Venue: Theatre in the Round

Wonderfully Silly

Just pure unfiltered silly joy, a great duo here, having a wonderful time. I know there must be lots of work involved for this team, but it sure feels effortless!!!

Company: Marie Cooney Stories
Show: Journey to Joy, Again
Venue: Rarig Nolte Xperimental Theatre

Most Impressive Storytelling

Marie is bold, and unflinching in her presentation of living with a brain injury and living life to its fullest! Learning to strive for what she loves to do and who she loves. Her story and her delivery offer insight into the challenges and the determination it takes to go forward in a difficult time. And, it's an absolute delight to see her take us on this journey to finding her joy and her love of life, after daunting loses, and never losing her wonderful sense of humor.
