Alisa was not at all thrown by the small 10 PM Monday night audience; she was so good, it was if she were performing for a sold out show. She brought super high energy and enthusiasm along with a humorous intimacy about her career journey. This gal's show is a winner.

I would totally vote for her for a class president of adulthood. I feel like she would really put in the work, you know? My nine-year-old said she loved her SO MUCH and the more laconic 12-year-old said she was really good.

Alisa: a pro storyteller & stand up comic

As the genre summary describes, Alisa's show is a blend of story telling and stand up comedy. Trouble is, that I love story telling and am not so crazy about stand up. None-the-less, she is a pro and had her (regrettably small) Sunday evening audience at Open Eye in stitches for the hour.

For those always chasing that next gold star...

I was lucky enough to see this show when it ran at Rhino Fest in Chicago last year - Alisa definitely delivers on her promise of showing what happens when that "gotta get an A" earnestness is deployed on each problem put in front of her. If this sounds like you, or if you remember her from "One Woman Beaches" a few years ago, you'll love this show!

Always great!

I loved this show, as Alisa opened up more about her life as a working children's-party-musician! The only thing that I missed was Alisa's singing and multi-instrumented songs. We got snippets of her beautiful voice, but just go ahead and play THE SONG, Alisa! That said, the show was laugh-out-loud funny; her timing is great, the circle-back was perfect, and she left me with stuff to think about (like solo apartments in big cities). Please come back next year, Alisa; and bring your uke!

This show was like catching up with an old friend. Very funny and relatable.

Brilliant

As a fellow North Side Jewish Chicagoan I went to see how Ms Rosenthal would entertain me with tales about a world I know all too well. In short, she was brilliant! I laughed so hard I almost fell out of my chair. This young woman is a performer not to be missed.

Valedictorian

This show is like listening to your very funny, slightly-strange bestie tell stories for an hour, which is pretty much exactly what I want out of a Fringe show. Alisa has great energy, her stories are funny and engaging, and as a former honor student myself, I found myself agreeing and cringing in equal measure. Incredibly enjoyable for all overachievers (and don’t forget your gold star!).

We saw Alisa in Beaches a few years back, so we knew this would be great show and it was. She is fun, high energy and knows how to entertain and engage her audience. And it's a super positive upbeat show, which we need now! Make your way to Open Eye Theater and don't miss Big Honor Student Energy

Honor Roll for a Reason

Alisa is hilarious. The time flew by because of all the laughter, and I saw the 10pm show! Pro comedian who knows how to work with an audience. Also, very relatable content, especially as a Tom Petty lover!

This was my favorite show this year! Alisa was entertaining, full of energy & shared hilarious stories about growing up in Chicago. Very animated, related to the audience and the whole show was entertaining. I loved it

This is a professional-level show and soooo very relatable. Be prepared for big energy and some very real humor. My over-planning, nerdy, Tom Petty-loving brain adores Alisa Rosenthal.

The one person show not to miss!

If you only see one one person show, this should be it! As a 39 year old, I might be biased! Alisa takes the audience on a great journey with lots of twists and turns. It was funny thoughtful and moving! Highly recommend! The only disappointment is that there were no instruments!

Alisa laughs at herself and invites us to laugh along with her, which is really laughing at OURselves, because we recognize ourselves and all of our own foibles, in her.
