Cast and Crew
Dawn Bentley
Writer / ProducerDawn Bentley joined the team at Minnesota Fringe in 2017 with business expertise in navigating strategic vision for growth and financial stability. She has previously held arts leadership positions at Northern Spark, Art Shanty Projects, and the Diverse Emerging Music Organization (DEMO) after careers in microbiology research, marketing, and business development consulting. She also enjoys teaching Financial Management for Nonprofits at the University of Minnesota and Minnesota State University at Mankato. Dawn is an arts aficionado and has played violin for 40 years in various ensembles from punk rock bands to professional orchestras with a dozen recordings in her repertoire. She holds Masters degrees in Nonprofit Management and Business Administration from Hamline University in St. Paul, MN. This is her first (and only?) attempt at writing a play.
Rita Boersma
Co-DirectorRita Boersma is a theater maker with credits including actor, writer, storyteller, director, teaching artist and 20+ year improvisational theater veteran. She is the former Artistic Director of HUGE Improv Theater and can be found performing weekly with improv mainstays, The Mess at Strike Theater. You can also catch her on the PA mic for the St. Paul Saints, if that’s your thing. No stranger to Minnesota Fringe, she’s had the delight of most recently being part of Rec League, The Campout, Windblown Cheeks of Lovers and Finger Lickin' Good. What a treat to join this crew for this adventure during this fresh hell we’re all currently living in.
Lucas Fanning
ClownLuke Fanning is a creator/performer from Hastings, Nebraska. Returning from the Peace Corps in 2019, he took improv classes at HUGE theater. He got sucked further into the “weird performance pipeline” soon after, falling in love with clown. He made his Fringe debut in 2024 under the direction of Nathaniel Justiano (Naked Empire Bouffon Company) devising and starring in Good Ones (winner of the Artist's Pick.) He’s trained with Deanna Fleysher (School for Comedy Beasts) which he can’t recommend enough. He wants to keep making art that excites and delights.
Heather Meyer
DramaturgHeather Meyer is a writer, actor, and improvisor. She's also up in the tech booth for this show! What a treat! Heather was most recently in fringe performing and devising in The Spirit Moves You To Color the Unseen, improvising in The Campout and Let Me Say This About That and performing and co-writing Finger Lickin’ Good (in which she tore her right ACL but her knee is great now) She has a very good dog who is on the IG @Murray.A.Dog. her cat, Ernie, eschews social media due to scandal. Heather has a non-concerning collection of over 100 artifical Christmas trees that are not green on IG at @HeathersHolidayForest
Jen Scott
Co-DirectorWriter/Performer Jen Scott (she/her) is a Twin Cities based theater maker and teaching artist.
