Venue: Rarig Nolte Xperimental Theatre
*Spoiler in text* Unforgettable
Spoiler in text* As a pianist, actor and stroke survivor, I was moved to tears by this brilliant show. I remember the terror of temporarily losing the functioning in my left hand and wondering if I would ever play piano again. This performance brought me back to that fragile but life changing moment. I was going to see another show after this one, but felt so utterly complete and wanted to sit with the story and how it resonated with me into the rest of the night. THAT is what we want from theater. Jennifer Vosters has, down to her very fingertips, created a masterpiece of her very own. This show will stay with me for years and years to come. Thank you.

A little hope goes a long way!
This show perfectly captures the helplessness, confusion and outrage many of us feel in these dark times. And it helps us ask the question “What now? What should we do?” while also instilling a little bit of hope. Grateful for this moving piece of theater.

Show: husk/vessel

Transported!
I was absolutely blown away by the talent of this cast and was transported to another place and time, perhaps even another planet! I got sci-fi vibes in the best way. A piece of fabric linked to each dancer comes to life as an extension of their bodies, emotions, relationship to time and space. Absolutely riveting, a must-see.
Company: The Winding Sheet Outfit
Show: The Spirit Moves You To Color The Unseen
Venue: Rarig Stoll Thrust Theatre
Gorgeous/Distracting
Beautiful movement and vocals, staging, and how cool to see history brought to life. The show was difficult to follow at times, however, and I found the character of Spirit to be costumed in such a way that was distracting and offset the beauty of the rest of the show. It didn’t fit for me, but what is Spirit anyway? A difficult entity to envision/embody. Thank you for teaching me something new!
Company: Richie Whitehead
Show: The Wickie

Delightful and so smart!
Best thing I have seen in awhile. I wish my kids had been with me! What a genius piece of theater and physical comedy. Hilarious and delightful!
Company: Flamenco X
Show: Her voice rising
Venue: The Southern Theatre
Emotional and real
I absolutely love flamenco and appreciated the emotional and real way this show depicts the contrast between how immigrants are stereotyped and who they really are: resilient, beautiful, talented and strong. I would like to see this piece again! Perhaps expanded with smoother transitions, but wow, lovely work!
