Clever, polished, moving.
Absolutely recommend this. If solo shows are not your thing, forget that. A simple idea, and very well executed. This one will stick with me. A beautiful message and hope for humanity. Only downside was the guitar was sometimes too hot and overpowering.

Clever, Entertaining, Self-Aware
Look, sometimes you gotta do Shakespeare Batman. Just forget everything else for a while and have a good time - you don’t always have to be challenged, nor have your thoughts provoked. Crumple up all the negative thoughts into a little ball, and throw them forth. Let loose. Watch the funny characters interact with full commitment in amazing costumes Shennanigize before your eyes. This is Batman Shakespeare, and I was on Bard that Knight.

5 kitties for the music alone
A very solid original musical! I am a sucker for the ragtime-feel, and trios where everyone is singing something different. Mr. And Mrs Foshay were stellar performers - grounded, fantastic vocals, and plenty of personality. They were complimented so well by Mr. Henley, whom you can’t NOT love. The ensemble did a ton of heavy lifting, and they were in proper shape to do so. The music was certainly my favorite part, but even I thought there was maybe one-too many songs. I only say that because so much of the story happened in the lyrics that I missed due to no microphones, and singing all at once. Definitely got the gist of it, so no big deal. Bravo!

I had A POSITIVE experience
A shortened, gay, vampire version of Oscar Wilde’s classic. Yep, they covered all the fringe tropes they could sink their teeth into! Absolutely stellar performances, brilliant wordplay, and incredible costuming. They paid attention to every detail, down to the way the mysterious white-gloved hand pulls back the curtain. It does help to know the original play, or at least the plot, and you should know general vampiric lore (although if Twilight is as far as you go, you’ll still like it).

Absolutely what fringe is about
Amazing writing, choreography, sound design, and acting. The southern theatre was a perfect venue, and the lighting complimented everything perfectly. Shows like this are the pinnacle of fringe for me - a bit weird, plenty of symbolism, and everyone giving 100% commitment. This one had a very unsettling vibe as well. I saw it twice!

A duo you can’t help but love
These two have a fantastic sense of storytelling and I was very charmed by them. Where they may lack in finesse and eloquence between scenes, they make up for in absolute commitment to the story they’re telling and an incredibly genuine demeanor. High level acting from both of them, and I loved hearing these true stories!

We all should be like Milk
A very well-written and performed drama. This flowed well and the actors really were compelling. The original music was good, but I felt it was a bit awkward coming in and out. I recommend this show!!

Real, Relatable Stories
I laughed, teared up, and hung on the every word of the performers. A very simply structured cabaret with stories that will resonate with the audience.

Live Music!
It is always a joy to see a live band in the theatre, and especially at the Fringe! The music itself was beautifully composed, performed, and balanced for the space. This composer could help write the next Bright Star, or Spitfire Grill - exceptional quality. Perhaps there could be a few more passes with some of the lyrics, but what a solid foundational talent. Speaking of talent, Brooklyn Kellenberg was a star - she brought true believability to her character Abby Lynn, and a voice that improved on the already amazing music. She delivered her dialogue with thought and purpose, even at some of the awkward writing. Theo Janke-Furman delivers a genuine and solid characterization of Jake. He and Kellenberg seemed to really play well off of each other, and gave us something to really root for. The show needed a bit more work in the writing department - much of the dialogue, especially for the insurance bigots, lacked flow, and were over-written. Granted, these types of people can tend to seem two-dimensional in real life, but I wished for a bit more eloquence and opportunity for the actors to fill in the blanks themselves. Did I spot the use of AI in the backdrops? If so... tsk tsk tsk. That is quite the irony. All that said - please keep making theatre, and keep improving. I can't wait to see (and especially HEAR) more!
