Heartfelt and professional

This is a show that looks like it’s been around awhile. I felt like I was in the hands of a pro who knew what they were doing and just let it fly. All the other reviews have said it all so let’s just say this hour is perfection in that it’s exactly what it says it is no more no less. My companion for this show said the actor was exactly like Gilda. But the performer didn’t really look like Gilda but through talent and mimicry you “saw” the great comic standing in front of you just the same.

Just fine fun

This show is a very clever who done it even though we don’t know exactly what’s been done till the end. Tight writing saves a somewhat lackluster directorial effort. Lots of talent that needed to be just a bit more focused and sharpened. But! This is a very clever little play in itself and deserves a look.

The movie without the fat

Funny? Yes! But not dumb fun. A Dry wit permeates this entire show and between belly laughs the gleeful smile never left my face. Lots of tech that was very skillfully handled. A Fargo presentation the Coens would love.

I learned something

I have no interest at all in this piece of literature. So much to my surprise this show held my attention and I found myself charmed and informed throughout. Glad I went. I wasn’t bored. Much more interesting than I expected. You will find it the same.

Hurry up Bard ya only got 58 minutes

This fun show is full of wit, charm and Shakespeare. They hit all the right points to get the story across without the Bard’s repetitive text. So much fun!

Many moving parts

I saw How To Kill A Horse for its first performance tonight. An almost miraculously Energetic and focused performance by Rob Ward in a one person show of 58 minutes. This is a highly detailed and complex story of multiple wrong doing with a host of awful people doing awful things. While imaginatively staged and compellingly performed I couldn’t help feeling overwhelmed by the sheer complexity of the tale presented. There just were too many moving parts and somewhere after the mid point of the show I just stopped trying to follow the story and simply enjoyed watching Rob prance around the stage being the consummate entertainer/showman that he is.
