Super talented cast with solid script exceptionally performed. There is no mystery why this show deserves its 5 kitties

Suspenseful Funny Fun!

With such a great cast this show really sucks you in from the start. The "therapist" was hilarious at the beginning and it just gets better from there with comedy galore. It also provides a strangely poignant view on behavioral health disorders. Loved all the over the top characters! Well worth a watch.

Acting and staging made for a enjoyable hour

This is billed as a comedy, and (thankfully) it is more intellectual, and less silly, than most Fringe comedies. As noted in other reviews, the acting (obviously veterans of the Fringe format) and the use of the TRP space were great. We wish the ending would have been a little better structured, we felt like we were left hanging. That is fine in some genres, but in a mystery?

Loved this show.

A narcissist, a Machiavellian, and a sociopath walk into a bar. That's pretty much the premise of this clever, talky show. The acting is uniformly good, with Adriana Surmak's understated Morgan a particular stand out. I liked that the scenes were staged to use the Theatre in the Round's 360 arena, though at our show pretty much everyone sat on one side of the theater.

I'm still laughing, fun, witty and well performed

My friend invited me to see this show and I'm so glad I did! The writing was witty and I really enjoyed the ending. The characters were a comedic portrayal of some well-known and some lesser-known psychological diagnoses, of which the writer and performers portrayed delightfully. I laughed most of the way through and the acting was a joy. I recommend putting this one on your list.

Fun characterizations

This is a really cool idea for a show, and the performers are clearly throwing themselves wholeheartedly into their characters to great benefit. There were a few moments fell a little flat for me, but I would still definitely recommend it.

Great Acting

The acting was really good. It was especially great to see Natalie's Aurora when so many of us know she is nothing like that character. I don't know how well they actually portrayed the specific traits as in my experience, narcissists tend to be more likeable (which is how they do their manipulation) and as others have mentioned the HIPAA rule-breaking was so far off from how it would go down in real life. But I can suspend my disbelief to enjoy the story. I especially liked the twists at the end.

Innovative show and fun concept.

As per usual for the creative team behind this, this was a new and engaging way to tell a story that wasn't aggresively, in your face in a "look at how new and interesting I am" way. The theater in the round was used well; the actors were all quietly excellent and funny as anything at the right times, and the lighting was good. The send up of Instagram/Twitter psychology was sharp without being over the top. An excellent show from people who alway provide excellence.

Therapy by social media meets normal bartender

This packed a lot into 50 minutes. VERY well choreographed in the round. The therapy patients - a Machiavellian and a narcissist then later a psychopath - were delightfully high energy. The therapist well displayed the risks of social media as a mental health practice (insert eyeroll emoji here). It is all still unfolding in retrospect. The bartender turned out to be the most interesting character. They announced as non-binary, a welcome relief to the over-abundance of female and male energy. We started to look at them as the trusted party. Then they guided the solution to the mystery. Lots of layers. A must see for LGBTQ+ for a stong non-binary actor and a show that makes the most of them as a mediary.

Great Cast, Poor HIPAA Compliance

I work in a office with therapists and psychiatrists, so I had to refrain many a twitch, kneejerk, and mrrp when the characters would diagnose someone within a second of meeting them, let alone write about your clients using their real names. Nonetheless, it was a funny show with each cast member pulling their weight, especially Aurora in those impossible heelless heels!

Great comedy

Plot was a little shaky, but the comedy is the real star here. Actors were impressive, therapist was my favorite with his podcasting

A unique perspective

This play had larger than life characters representing different mental health conditions. This script blurred the lines between the helper and the helped and created an intriguing mystery where you don't quite know how it's going to end.

Just fine fun

This show is a very clever who done it even though we don’t know exactly what’s been done till the end. Tight writing saves a somewhat lackluster directorial effort. Lots of talent that needed to be just a bit more focused and sharpened. But! This is a very clever little play in itself and deserves a look.

A Deep Show Disguised As a Comedy

If the goal of this show was to lure me in with a good laugh, but address complex issues such as the struggle of self improvement on a mental health journey, influencer culture and "main character syndrome" then they nailed it. This show was funny but also hit heavy with me. Writing was fantastic, the acting was great, even the stage manager was stupendous. A must see of this festival.

The Doctor is Out…But Why???

“Works in Progess” is a solid whodunnit about three patients searching for their missing shrink. Great performances all around, especially from the woman navigating those crazy heels. There were some groaners—an Alec Baldwin gun joke for example—but I think the waitress is the only likable character at the beginning and the script realizes this. I thought there was some slight punching down, the patients turning into the Three Stooges as their problems become sources of comedy, but overall solving the mystery involves the characters overcoming the difficulties of their disorders, not from the help of the satirical TikTok psychologist, but rather themselves.

Funny and well performed!

This delightful mystery and quirky cast had me laughing most of the time!
