Helena Cosentino
ActressHelena resides in Kansas City, MO where she is actively involved in the theatre community there. She recently graduated with her CAGS from the European Graduate School in Saas Fee, Switzerland in Expressive Arts Therapy, Consulting and Education. She received her MA in Collaborative Theatre at Lesley University in Boston. Helena has been a Theatre teacher for over 20 years and a performer all her life. Helena is most recently known for her other one women show where she plays Cindy Lou Who in Who's Holiday, by Matthew Lombardo and produced by Padgett Productions in Kansas City, www.whokansascity.com. The production was awarded best play of the decade by Broadway World. You can also often see her as a guest star for Kansas City’s Late Night Theatre. As a part of her MA, Helena developed Storizenmotion, a collaborate theatre process for creating original work through improvisation inspired by Ruth Zaporah’s Action Theatre, Anna Halprin’s Life-Art Process, Augusto Boal’s Theatre of the Oppressed, Playback Theatre, and Gabrielle Roth’s Five Rhythms. She looks forward to continuing to develop ways to use multiple creative and artistic modalities to bring people together and build community. Some of her favorite performances include: Storizenmotion, Hank, Syvvie and Gina in The Kathy and Mo Show, Salome in The Robber-Bridegroom, and Aunt Martha in Arsenic and Old Lace.. Her directing favorites: The Juniper Project, Tony and Tina’s Wedding, Conference of the Birds, A Midsummer Nights Dream, Les Miserables and Dogfight.
