Show: Big Honor Student Energy
Venue: Open Eye Theatre

A++

We saw Alisa in Beaches a few years back, so we knew this would be great show and it was. She is fun, high energy and knows how to entertain and engage her audience. And it's a super positive upbeat show, which we need now! Make your way to Open Eye Theater and don't miss Big Honor Student Energy

Company: Octoberdandy Productions
Show: Clown Funeral
Venue: Theatre in the Round

Delightful and Fun

I have to say, not a clown fan and typically when "clowning" is listed in the genre it's a hard no. but my friend wanted to go, so we went. It was really fun, good audience participation, never dull, sometimes bittersweet. A wonderful fringe show

Company: Kelly Shuda
Show: OPERA PUNKS
Venue: The Southern Theatre

Fabulous!!

Very talented actors with amazing voices. So funny, wasn't expecting to cackle so much. I would see it again!

Company: JimJam Media
Show: Holidating: The Improvised Romcom
Venue: Rarig Nolte Xperimental Theatre

Super Fun!

What a great year for improv at the fringe. This amazing group of actors delivered a great performance and fun songs for a quirky holiday (mine was sandcastle day!) Sit back, laugh and enjoy! and yes Love wins the day - hallmark style

Company: Nightfall Productions
Show: Hamluke
Venue: Rarig Stoll Thrust Theatre

Loved It

I knew this show would be fun but surprised by the fabulous performances, puppets and costumes. We loved it so much we rearranged our next Sunday schedule to see it again!! Tip: do a quick review of hamlet plot and characters will make the show even more entertaining!

Company: Snikt! Bamf! Thwip!
Show: Invasive Species or: In Space No-One Can Hear Your Steam
Venue: Rarig Stoll Thrust Theatre

Loved it!

Witty script, great actors, fabulous puppets. Even with knowing nothing about the steampunk genre, it was wonderful entertaining ride. Highly recommend.

Company: Duluth Improv
Show: Duluth: An Improvised Midwest Murder
Venue: Rarig Nolte Xperimental Theatre

Fun Ride

Talented improv group out of Chicago. Really enjoyed the send up of Small Town MN and Murder!!

Company: Nichole Carey & Company
Show: Withering Lows: A Love Story Better Off Dead
Venue: Rarig Nolte Xperimental Theatre

Great Melodrama (with a little Kate Bush!)

Just a great script, really well acted and a dash of camp. When I quickly moved on from the fact this was not a musical comedy, I leaned into the intrigue, mystery and heartbreak. I absolutely loved the "unnecessary song and dance number"

Company: The Shrieking Harpies
Show: Shrieking Harpies Presents: Period Piece
Venue: Barbara Barker Center for Dance

Love the Shrieking Harpies

Such a talented group of women. It never ceases to amaze me they can deliver a musical on the spot that is always fun and fabulous. Such a great year for improv at the Fringe, don't miss the one!

Company: Melancholics Anonymous
Show: Joan of Arc for Miss Teen Queen USA
Venue: Rarig Stoll Thrust Theatre

Simply Fabulous

If you are only able to choose a few shows at this year’s fringe don’t miss Joan of Arc. I was a little worried about MA moving to Thrust, but they filled the room with another well written tale delivered with wit, song & dance, and very talented actors. Talk about I laughed, I cried and was thoroughly entertained.

Company: Kalal Productions
Show: GUNS! the Musical
Venue: Theatre in the Round

Fun Ride

Guns the Musical kicked off our fringe experience. What a great way to start. It was a clever fun show. Super strong finish, and sadly a little too true about the world today.
