More Information

Viet Nguyen twists the memory play and the multi-character solo show together in a resonant and ingenious way that changes both.

The result is mesmerizing. Memory expands to cross continents, oceans, wars, generations, cultures, time.

There’s a swirl of memories, heartbreaking, wistful, and funny — stories from a fascinating gallery of characters.

-Edmonton Journal

The depth and richness of these continent-spanning tales remain with you long after you leave the theatre.

-Edmonton Sun

Reincarnation Soup had me feeling a bit like Oliver Twist, lifting my empty bowl and pleading, ‘Please sir, I want some more.’ Viet Nguyen is enthralling and mesmerizing in his brilliantly crafted one-man show that is sure to stay on the minds of his audiences long after the curtain comes down.

-Orlando Sentinel

You’re left with a feeling of sorrow but also one of riches – of a people and a country that are troubled but also strong and proud. Reincarnation Soup is a small show that will stay with you. It deserves to be seen – and celebrated.

-Elizabeth Maupin on Theater

Nguyen connects with his audience in an intensely personal way.

-Orlando Weekly

The overall effect is alternately chilling and heartwarming.
