A Short, Well Made Romp

A dense, well done story held up by cool staging and great performances. Yes, it is pretty short, but what's there is all great stuff. A very funny drama!

Confusing

This is a series of vignettes between different couples in different time periods. And then it goes in a totally different direction. Not what I was expecting, but not necessarily in a bad way. Needs work though, some plot points make no sense, some story telling is difficult to follow, it feels unfinished. But the characters were interesting and I was invested in their story. I want to know how it ends, because this doesn't feel like it has an ending. It's not a great sign when you need to tell your audience when it's over. Only ran about 30 minutes.

Interesting concept

Disappointing. Don't waste your time

I cannot recommend that anyone pay to see this show. I regret that I had to. The show suffers from a poor script with little depth, lack of interesting characters and insufficient plot. It only ran 30 minutes...not that quantity is quality...but this show lacked both.

A Fringe Twilight Zone Episode

While still a work in progress, I think the piece is coming together fairly well. The shifts between times is clear enough, though the "kids" section pairing with the modern could be made a touch clearer. Given there is available run-time, I think this could get fleshed out into a really solid show. As I was in attendance of the performance where a last-minute fill-in actor was present, it's harder to comment on the cohesiveness of the cast, but they rolled well with the situation.

Good cast, bad writing

I really wanted to like this, as it shows LGBTQ couples in a way they aren’t often portrayed, but the show had a confusing plot line and never did anything with its many good ingredients. The supernatural element detracted from what was otherwise a great story of generational parallels. The actors are better suited for comedy instead of drama.

Where was Rock Hudson?

This show started with an intriguing premise set inn the early 1800s that was expertly delivered by the four actors in the first scene. But when the show shifted to the contemporary setting in subsequent scenes it became unclear with its identity - LGBTQIA? Horror? Comedy? The content and clarity suffered. The title may knowingly or unknowingly reference Rock Hudson's closeted life but it is that content initially brought to the stage that would be interesting to see the author explore.

A nicely Fringe-y show

This was one of those Fringe shows where you walk in expecting one thing, and see something quite different. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it comes off like someone had a long, strange acid trip and wrote it out afterwards. This was the former, thankfully. ;) Did I think that this would be more sexy and less horror/supernatural? Yes. Was I sure I knew what was going on all the time? No. Did I have a good time? Yes. Slight deduction for the very brief (about 30-35 minutes) length. But they said all they had to say and there's nothing wrong with ending there.

10 Kitties if I could!! Very creative and full of twists and turns and surprises. Well written, set up in the Arena performance space and played out.

A Dab of AHS

I was curious about this show before the preview, and the preview solidified my resolve to check out this play. It is a slight 35-minutes, but the script—which reminded me of a cross between Tom Stoppard’s Arcadia and a lost season of American Horror Story—engaged me with its shifting timelines. A few plot points provided some doubts on my end, but the cast was clearly having fun, and I would enjoy seeing more from this ensemble. Effective use of the arena space and great chemistry and ensemble work.

Incomplete but intriguing show

As the cast explained at the show, this is a workshop performance. With that in mind: there are several intriguing elements in the play that I'm excited to see fleshed out more in the future. As it stands now there are several lingering plot questions: What happens to the women in the 1800s, how are they connected to the present, how is the neighbor's grandmother connected, are the new couple who just moved in connected to the women in the past or were they swept up in all this ("wrong place / wrong time' style?), what happened to the baby in the past, what happens to the baby in the future, etc? There's a good base to build off of here: the 6 main characters are all clearly defined, and they each have their own unique motivations and character traits; and keeping the story in one building / a single setting helps make the connections between past and present clear. For this performance: the actors all did a really nice job. In particular one actor filled in last minute and did incredible work!

What?

First of all- Thank you for making this so gay! Solid kitty for that alone. However- it became completely unclear what the heck was happening. Horror? Fine. But like... literally what happened? I have no idea. I was confused the bad kind of way. I actually really liked the vignettes and would have been invested in seeing them play out- even if they were going to be eerie. The seance could have been cut. The characters were too random and not likeable.

Workshop stage of a compelling play!

There are a lot of pieces here that I'm excited to see come together. If there are further workshops or stage readings as you develop this piece, I would love to participate. Please keep me posted! All the actors did a great job, but of course I need to give a special shout out to the guy who joined the cast last minute. So glad you didn't have to cancel the show! I'm really glad I saw it.
