Great physical comedy
Wonderful show! The production finds a joke wherever possible: from physical choices, to props, to sound cues. Extremely polished show!

Incomplete but intriguing show
As the cast explained at the show, this is a workshop performance. With that in mind: there are several intriguing elements in the play that I'm excited to see fleshed out more in the future. As it stands now there are several lingering plot questions: What happens to the women in the 1800s, how are they connected to the present, how is the neighbor's grandmother connected, are the new couple who just moved in connected to the women in the past or were they swept up in all this ("wrong place / wrong time' style?), what happened to the baby in the past, what happens to the baby in the future, etc? There's a good base to build off of here: the 6 main characters are all clearly defined, and they each have their own unique motivations and character traits; and keeping the story in one building / a single setting helps make the connections between past and present clear. For this performance: the actors all did a really nice job. In particular one actor filled in last minute and did incredible work!
Company: Wells Farnham
Show: Wells Is Third On The Waitlist
Venue: Augsburg Studio
I was laugh crying at "jet chair"the movie
This one probably won't be for everyone. It's a one person show about Wells trying -- and failing -- to find a topic for his Fringe show. Along the way Wells' structure comes in waves, and it can be hard to follow exactly why we're hearing any single, particular story along the way. By the end, tho, it's a weird and lovely hilarious not-quite return to things Wells described before! Enjoy the journey, because it's full of funny one-liners and ends in a very funny way!
Company: Snikt! Bamf!Thwip!
Show: John Wick by Tim Wick (no relation)
Venue: Theatre in the Round
MORE than just 4 movies in 45 minutes
This show is funny with great actors, great timing, lots of Keanu impressions, and thousands of nerf bullets. And all that was very entertaining, and if that's ALL this show was, it would be a ton of fun! But what Tim does here goes well beyond that. His inserting himself and constantly breaking the 4th wall isn't JUST to move the story forward (tho there is much of that... 4 movies in 45 minutes, after all). Instead, those moments allow Tim to critically analyze the films... And then himself and how he (we) look at these films... And how and why he (we) cheer for characters, both on screen and off. It's still incredibly funny, but it's a much more thoughtful experience than I was anticipating... And the show is all the better for it!
Company: The Shrieking Harpies
Show: The Shrieking Harpies
Venue: Rarig Center Arena
Always a good show!
I've seen the Shrieking Harpies before. They're always great! This time their show got weird (Gummy Bears and volcanoes and tiny Whos living in pubes and songs about depressed dads... What?!) but they brought it all together in a hilarious way! If you see one improv show, make it this one!
Company: Black Lives Black Words International Project
Show: Baldwin's Last Fire

One of the best acting performances you'll see
Harry delivers an incredible performance. And this show used the TRP space incredibly well!

See this show!!
Laugh out loud funny, heartfelt personal stories, and a call to action. All somehow connected and never feeling like a piece of out of place. One of the best one person shows I've EVER seen!! SEE THIS SHOW!!

Show: A Jingle Jangle Morning

A fun adventure for all ages!
A ton of fun. The cast brought great energy, which matched tone of the show well. The puppets, costumes, and set pieces were incredible!!

Ideal Fringe Show
Incredibly funny, great use of the space, great use of minimal props and simple lighting, and surprisingly heartfelt moments giving each character a full arc. See this show!
Company: Special When Lit and The Winding Sheet Outfit
Show: Stabby Stab Stab
Venue: Crane Theater
GREAT show! (Be warned: it's for real creepy)
Beautiful movement. Wonderful use of the text. It's funnier and more emotionally moving than I expected, though it builds beautifully to it's horror moments. I was sad I missed this show during Horror Fest last year, and I'm SO GLAD I caught it this time! Be sure to plan ahead as this is the only show at The Crane.
Company: John Orenstein
Show: Extreme Roadshow
Venue: Phoenix Theater
SEE! THIS! SHOW!!!
I was expecting a silly, fun musical. Which it was! I was not expecting it to also be sweet and tender, and to have a lovely thru line with call backs, and incredible harmonies, and really great choreography. (With that many actors? In narrow space of the Phoenix? How did they do that?!) This show is GREAT! Go see it!!
Company: Ghoulish Delights
Show: 5 Prisoners
Venue: Southern Theater
Strong collection of stories
Very strong cast! Solid writing. Based on other reviews, it seems like different people had their favorites. (I thought the first vignette was absolutely brilliant!) Given the variety, there will definitely be something that keeps you thinking afterwards.
Company: Paper Soul
Show: NPC! (Non-Player Character)
Venue: Rarig Center Xperimental
A vulnerable storytelling experience
There are moments throughout that feel unpolished (such as going back to the script). Give those moments grace. They all lead to a beautiful, heartfelt, vulnerable ending. You don't need to have seen Motz's show last year to get the full experience. All you need is to do is approach the world with empathy and compassion, something Motz models with equal parts humor and humanity.
Company: Wet Splat Productions
Show: 20,000 Leagues Under the Telltale Heart
Venue: Rarig Center Arena
Fun and silly improv
Like other reviewers, I didn't realize this was an improv show. That said, it was a well done, fun show! The Foley artist in particular was fantastic!!
Company: Phina Pipia
Show: Ha Ha Da Vinci
Venue: Southern Theater
Delightfully full of surprises
Magic. Music. Puppetry. Dancing. This lovely one person show is so much fun because of all the things Phina brings to the performance. An overall fun delight!
Company: Alchemy Arts
Show: When You Hear the Chime
Venue: Southern Theater
Beautiful nostalgia
See this show! Nichole and Andrew have such beautiful chemistry together. The storytelling aspect allows them to play off each other in ways that are fun and touching. For anyone who wants to reminisce about childhood -- to playfully laugh with childish joy, and to empathize with facing big emotions for the first time -- this show is for you!
